License to Batter.

Any sane batting coach would have left him alone. It would have to be by invitation. No one would just walk up to The Sultan of Swat with batting advice.

Favorite quote from Babe Ruth--
When asked how he could justify getting a higher salary than the President of the United States, the Babe replied, "I had a better year."

I just heard it - woo hoo! I have a ticket for tomorrow, and was hoping he'd hold out till then, but that's okay. I got to see 500 and #73.
Re: watered down pitching, Mike Krukow, on the pregame show, said the four year cycle of newbie pitchers in the expansion teams are now maturing into more experienced pitchers. Offense is down from last year, and will probably decline over the next few years.

Well Kip Wells a good guy will go down in the record books as the pitcher to dish out 600. I like Kip (a former White Sox) and I was really hoping a lousy cub pitcher would give up 600. Oh well, congratulations to Barry.

Who would be the home run king if there weren't any steroids?
To: P-Marlowe
Actually Bonds is the first member of the 600 club---that is, the first batter on roids to hit 600; Sosa will be the 2nd.

Given the Bambino's penchant for working out the elbow, I doubt he would've had the "want to" to get in shape. However,
you cant argue with the numbers he racked up.

Is this because Barry ate his Wheaties this morning? Or did he swallow something else?
His father must be proud. Bobby could be the supplier - no?

That isn't a self-portrait - is it? 'Proof,' please...
To: Libloather
And your proof is?
Even if he is juiced, the guy still has to hit the ball square.
