Althought remarks by DNC Chairman Terence R. McAuliffe this weekend were made with an eye to helping Democratic candidates in the Congressional elections this fall, they also were an aggressive effort to lay out a potential plan of attack for the Democratic presidential candidates who are already preparing for 2004.
NYT reports: McAuliffe's aides "said he viewed this, after a long period in which attacks on Mr. Bush were largely muted, as an effort to usher in a new political season. He spoke as Democratic leaders closed a meeting in which they seemed increasingly confident that Mr. Bush can be defeated in 2004 because of problems in the economy and on Wall Street. They also expressed confidence that they would maintain or increase their numbers in the Senate this fall, and might win control of the House." McAuliffe "said he reviewed the speech with former President Bill Clinton; the House minority leader, Richard A. Gephardt; and Tom Daschle, the Senate majority leader."

It is my opinion that Clinton wrote the speech. I have no proof, but the fact that the war on terror is hardly mentioned is a strong indication.
Also, if you go to the transcript of the speech, there are several phrases lifted from President Bush's acceptance speech at the convention. I am certain that that speech galled Clinton, and he has been wanting to get back at President Bush ever since.
In addition to everything else, they are plagiarists.

Terence R. McAuliffe = Just another Clinton bootlicking spinner from the depths of depravity.
To: Paul Atreides
Sure he reviewed it with his handlers. He's a mindless puppet.
To: Paul Atreides
Indeed. This should comes a surprise to no one.

Bill and Hil are ventriloquists. McAwful, TommyD and Gephardt serve as their interchangable dummies.
How shocking.

Like Rush just said...McAwful said everything that the rapist wants to say but hasn't....in other words, the rapist wrote it and McAwful delivered it.

Terry acts as the democrat's MasterBlaster so it goes without saying that he passed his speech by the Masterba***, Bill Clinton.

I saw some footage of his blathering, on FNC, earlier. Is it me, or does he come across like AlBore? They have that same strange way of speaking; condescending, smarmy, arrogant, full of themselves.

LOL! The Ayatollah of Rock and Roll-ah!
To: Paul Atreides
I wonder if Clinton had the decency to give Terry a reach-around while he dictated it.
