CAIRO (Reuters) - Egyptian police have arrested a man who performed brain surgery on a number of people even though he had only a primary school education, court sources said Wednesday.
The 40-year-old saw around 200 patients a week in the oasis town of Fayoum near Cairo. He charged 22 Egyptian pounds ($4.74) per patient and operated on a number of people but the fate of his victims was not immediately known.
The man had forged a secondary school certificate and claimed to have studied brain surgery in Cairo and Germany.

You don't have to be a rocket scientist to do brain surgery. Haha. I knew that joke was there - I just couldn't come up with it.

I realize that this is a gray area, but what does it matter if one pretends to be more cerebral than one really is?

Yes, in retrospect, I think that was perhaps too cutting... I was definitely heading in the wrong direction.

You don't have to be a rocket scientist to do brain surgery.I work with rocket scientists (NASA, Air Force) and can tell you that while they may have a secondary education, someone has completely removed the part of the brain that controls common sense! I am still trying to convince my boss that my Child Psychology studies apply to my HR duties and should be paid for under the company's tuition reimbursement program, LOL!

The 40-year-old saw around 200 patients a week If he worked a standard 40-hour week that averages to averages to about 15 minutes per patient. Even if he worked twice as long it would still only be 30 minutes per patient. Not very long for brain surgery. Before you laugh at how low the price was you may want to consider he made nearly $950 a week.
