Free Republic Network Conference a Roaring Success! Participants post your comments here

Dear Freepers:

I just returned from the First Annual Free Republic Network Convention in Las Vegas.

The Free Republic Network Cruise last October was the most fun I've ever had in my whole life. The Free Republic Network Conference I just attended was the most informative and inspiring two days I've ever had in my whole life.

The Free Republic Network is stretching its muscle, not by talk, but by action. The Free Republic forum is liberty's college. The Free Republic Network is liberty's workplace.

If you attended, please use this thread to post your observations, comments and highlights of the conference. I will give mine below. But before I do, I'd like to take this time to thank Bob Johnson and the FRN board for putting on this conference. It's hard for me to find the words to adequately describe how great this experience was--and how much I learned.

Slip you are so kind. I am just an old shoe that loves being a freeper and you are beautiful. I was so glad to get to meet you and Cyber. It meant a lot to me.

I don't claim to know what's in your freepmail.

You insinuated you did. I accept your response at face value. I have made no attempt to trash this thread. I came here to read a report on an event I was unable to attend, nothing more nothing less. I responded when it seemed that to take a stand on aboration was to hot of an issue for conservatives to debate. That is unacceptable.

Would you address my other reply to you?

If you're serious about burying the hatchet that would be a good thing to stop, as would the relentless efforts to trash this thread.

Hatchet? I don't even have a hatchet, you can call home and ask my wife.#;o)

For better or worse, here we go with the pictures.

Boring, obligatory exterior visual:

There were some really NICE places to go in Vegas:

Of course, what would any gathering of Freepers be without a flame war or two?:

Until their performance evidences anything even resembling a basic understanding of or belief in -- much less adherence to -- strict constitutionalist, conservative and pro-life principles, I don't see the point in electing more of the same.
I think we should probably consider holding our elected representatives accountable before we go waltzing around convincing others that we've got what it takes to restore this nation's integrity.

Askel5, I agree with almost everything you've said. What you describe are called RINOs. They use the word Republican to describe themselves but don't hold to the conservative point of view.

When I say "we" I'm talking about conservatives not Republicans. And yes, "we" need to get more of "us" elected to office. Again, that was one of the points hit over and over at the conference, how to get more of "us" elected.

I also am not a registered Republican or Democrat. Look on my profile page. The main paragraph hasn't changed since I originally put it up.

The point is that "we" need to get more of "us" elected. "We" can't do that without the tools, tactics and strategies, that will, at least, let us battle the liberals with more chance of winning than we have had to this point.

Are you kidding? Just because we have a little debate you think that I'm going to pass up a free drink? ;^)

Does it bother you that a poll taken on our "conservative" forum shows that 77% of us think that we should open a can of Whup-ass on Saddam Hussein?

Why, looky -- Another important and divisive issue coalesces out of the mist. We must discuss it at once! And we must discuss it here -- right on this very thread.

If we're following the Askel Model (which may or may not be the case) any opinion I offer will be grotesquely, insultingly distorted, prompting me to post further clarifications and explanations. These too will be misrepresented. If I express resentment at being treated this way, we get to see the Victim Dance (Look! I'm being viciously attacked again!) along with enough snide remarks (Gosh, you really have some emotional issues, don't you?) to keep the pot bubbling nicely.

Not pleasant, of course. But the alternative is to talk about the great time everybody had at FRiva, the things we learned, and what the Network can do next. And that will never do.

I really couldn't care less about the FRN one way or another provided you left us alone to do our work, we've lots to do.

Actions, so they say, speak louder than words.

For true, no malice, no games, just talking to you.

Sometimes the only sincerity is silence.

Who WAS that man in those Foster Grants?

I shan't post any more pictures until I figure out how to reduce the size of the files. They're thread killers.

Every actor in hollywood thats prettier than me is gay. So that leaves Ned Beatty, post-1970's Marlon Brando and Jack Klugman as ladies' men.

Much better now.

Because, I mean really...

I'm not a Trekkie...

I always suspected there was something wrong with you.

I'm related to a TrekkER... does that count for anything?

LOL!!!

Oh, you're definitely appreciated, o_p_h... just only slightly less appreciated than a 1960's Marlon.

(((sigh!)))

There are no small parts; only small actors...

Exactly.

(I am big. It's the pictures that got smaller.)
