A movie that glorifies "President Hillary Clinton" is one of the biggest box-office and critical bombs of 2002.
The studio knew "The Adventure of Pluto Nash" was such a stinker it repeatedly delayed the release date and, in a rare move, refused to screen it for reviewers. Star Eddie Murphy refused to do any publicity for it.
Democrat mouthpiece Maureen Dowd of the New York Times wrote early this month: "Hollywood prefers actresses under 40, but doesn't mind women over 40 running studios, Senate offices or the country. In the new futuristic Eddie Murphy movie set in the year 2087, Mrs. Clinton was a beloved president long ago. In space, $10,000 bills have her face on them and are known not as dollars, but as Hillaries."
Maybe in space, Maureen, but on planet Earth the American people had better things to do last weekend. The movie, with an estimated cost of $100 million, "posted one of the biggest flops of the year," noted Reuters, with a debut at No. 10 and a take of only $2.2 million since Friday.
"The movie has collected dust - and bad industry buzz - since its summer 2000 shoot," Reuters said.
"There could be a good reason why the film sat on the shelf for awhile before being released," wrote Hollywood.com in its pan. "The bare-bones story only manages to elicit a few chuckles here or there - and it's hardly an 'adventure.'"
The flick is "so unremittingly awful that labeling it a dog probably constitutes cruelty to canines," opined the New York Post.
"This is a movie whose big joke - repeated several times, like most of the other lame gags - is that Hillary Clinton's face will adorn the $10,000 bill in a few decades."
Oh, and just to send the stink-o-meter into the stratosphere, left-wing loon Alec Baldwin makes a cameo appearance.
"It's a disappointment, and we're moving forward," said Dan Fellman, president of distribution at Warner Bros., a unit of the Democrat-friendly media leviathan AOL Time Warner.
Now if only the public will have this much sales resistance when Hillary runs for president.
Oh, and just to send the stink-o-meter into the stratosphere, left-wing loon Alec Baldwin makes a cameo appearance.
Yet two more reasons not to see this flick...
Made my day, TC. Thanks...
Why do I get the sinking feeling that the left-wing whacknuts are actually using this as some kind of massive tax-dodge or money laundering scam?
And in the future, Port-a-Pottys will be known as "Baldwins."
Thank you for giving me the best laugh I've had all day. ;)

This seems significant, especially because the TV ads for the movie, which play to a much wider audience and probably were produced later, do not contain this scene. In fact, I wonder if it the scene made it into the final film.
When I saw the trailer for this film - I believe in front of Shrek in summer '01 - in a theatre in DC, there was a scattering of boos from the audience.
When I saw the trailer again recently, this time in front of the new Austin Powers trailer, and this time in Austin TX, there were a few cheers, some groans, and one man who said quite audibly "Why did she give him all that toilet paper?"
Moviegoers go to movies - this is a law of marketing motion pictures. I don't think it's too far a stretch to say that this movie - well-advertised on TV in the last weeks - is doing poorly because the core group of die hard film goers, the people who see virtually any movie - were turned off in the past year when they saw that scene with that horrible woman's porcine face on the money of the future. I bet a lot of them thought that the whole film would be some left-o clinton-loving comedy and stayed away in droves.
This is very, very significant.
From his keyboard to God's ear....
...$10,000 bills have her face on them and are known not as dollars, but as Hillaries."Hmmmmm...are they preparing us for for the 'It takes a Village Hillary health care' costs? Wonder how many 'Hillaries' will it take to liposuction her out of our lives?
A line worthy of Groucho Marx. ;) Bravo!
Best Regards, Ivan
