ENDQUOTE to end all!! Ann Coulter boasts the No. 1 best-selling book in American non-fiction, "Slander: Liberal Lies About the American Right." Many read it with slack-jawed wonder, thinking if one simply switched "liberal" to "conservative" throughout, it would make more sense.
The vivacious Ann gave an interview to George Gurley in the New York Observer this week. She actually says, "My only regret with Timothy McVeigh (the Oklahoma City bomber) is he did not go to the New York Times building."

She quotes Ann about the NYT building and of course her NY and LA friends will no doubt claw their eyes out on that quote. They'd be shocked to realize that most of America would agree. I'm sure if you polled; if you had to give up one of the following buildings which would it be?
1. The Oklahoma Federal Building 2. The New York Times Building
The answer I think would be overwhelming and would look identical to the blue/red map in Election 2000.

When liberals demand that Kennedy apologize to Bork and Time Magazine apologizes to Gingrich and every liberal who has called conservatives "nazis" for wanting to cut taxes then I will ask Coulter to apologize. Until then she can say whatever she wants about liberals and I will back her.

Considering the amount of dictators the Times has coddled, the Soviet crimes it has excused, the news it has distorted, the conservatives it has pilloried and ruined - the Lady Ann has a point. ;)

"The vivacious Ann gave an interview to George Gurley in the New York Observer this week. I have lost all respect for her.

Liz Smith has always been an obnoxious liberal with a condescending mouth. I was enraged when she once wrote in her column that Charlton Heston was having a drinking problem and going into rehab for it (I don't know if this is true or not, but I think Chuck did say he tended to drink a lot of white wine when traveling to cope with his insane touring schedule for the NRA) -- and then Liz derided his NRA stand on gunowner rights, and used the drinking story as fuel for her fire to imply that he was unbalanced. She also is a bragging lesbian and defended BJ Clinton to the hilt during the Monica and Paula Jones days, skewering those evil, puritanical Republicans at every turn.

Liz knows that her readers are so dumb they have to be told who Timothy McVeigh is.

Many read it with slack-jawed wonder, thinking if one simply switched "liberal" to "conservative" throughout, it would make more sense. Oh, yes, we all know how Dan and Tom and Peter are right wing Republicans and how they constantly slant the news towards their far right agenda.
I try to be objective. I admit that *most* political talk radio shows are conservative---I don't know many conservatives who deny that.
But the media goes apoplectic whenever anyone suggests that *most* newspapers and televisions in this country lean to the left. They won't even concede that NPR is liberal!

See post # 8.
I'm not saying it was a nice thing to say, but there IS a method to her madness...

"They won't even concede that NPR is liberal!"
Ha, our office liberal claims NPR is middle-of-the-road, because he says that Pacifica is (mildly) liberal. Perspective!
