You have been brainwashed by Liz Smith and the liberal press into misinterpreting the thrust of Ms. Coulter's statment. The liberals are great at generating interparty disputes among their opponents.

Far be it from me to blindly defend Ann, but Liz Smith is an idiot and took the quote out of context.

"I haven't lost all respect for her, but the remark was very ill-considered. It gives her enemies the exact weapon they've been seeking. It will be used against her ruthlessly to illustrate conservative "mean spiritedness."
Nobody ever accuses the liberals of being mean-spirited but THEY are. Conservatives should grow some gonads, refuse to let the left smack down one of our number, and stand up for our cause without being such a bunch of lilly-livered, prissy milktoasts.

What she was apparently implying was that if ANYONE had to have been blown up, the New York Times Building was far less of a loss and I don't think most Americans would dispute that. Well, if that's what she meant, I can't disagree with that.

Taunt or not it was not only reprehensible it was strategically stupid to make this comment. For someone who has a reputation of intelligence and wit, Coulter has given the other side a point of attack that cannot be defended. In a way I hope this comment gets widely reported, with the reports emphasizing that Coulter is a conservative, although I agree the remark itself is indefensible. Why? Because most people who've never read the NYT believe it's conservative. I think most people who rarely read newspapers, which is most people, assume all the big papers are conservative. First of all, they're owned by big corporations. Secondly, they tend to have fairly well off readers. So the average clueless citizen assumes they must be conservative.

"Ms. Coulters book is filled with insults. Christie Todd Whitman is a "birdbrain" and a "dimwit," while Senator Jim Jeffords is a "half-wit."
I would term them accurate descriptions. This is why the left triumphs in America. Whenever a bright, glib, aggressive spokesperson appears to answer their radical left-wing rhetoric with the light of truth, the liberals demonize them and then turn around and give people on their side like Carville who are equally ardent in their attacks on conservatives rewards like a job with Disney.

"This was an indefensible attack on the Big Media and it will be deployed ruthlessly against her and all conservatives."
Only if we are feckless and craven enough to allow it.

She wasn't wrong. She shouldn't apologize, and she will move on. But the liberals won't as long as so-called "conservatives" recoil in horror for no justifiable reason.

I don't have a clue, oldtimer?? You are another one that must bang his spoon on the highchair when reading this drivel. She thought something truly vile was worth mentioning and you don't have the humanity to disassociate from that?
What if they were your loved ones in the NYT Building? You take your politics to the extreme, bucko, and to excuse her stupidity, and it is stupidity, all because she's "our gal Anne" is contemptible.

"You've become a stock buffoon."
Pretty tough words coming from a...CANADIAN.

Habs for ever is apparently a Canadian. As such, he has no real concept of the viciousness of the war waged by the liberal left against real America, unless of course is a fifth columnist on this Board supporting them.

You are another one that must bang his spoon on the highchair when reading this drivel. She thought something truly vile was worth mentioning and you don't have the humanity to disassociate from that? Our forefathers fought a war, and killed people, because those people were stealing our forefathers' property and Rights.
The Democrats and their handmaidens in the press are stealing our property and Rights. Connect the dots, ditz.

Ann Coulter makes a very valid point. AlQaeda, Timothy McVeigh and the NY Times are all related by liberals and others completely unappologetic about their proselytism. They are terrorists or backers of terrorism.
America wake up from the PC proselytist BS.

What she was apparently implying was that if ANYONE had to have been blown up, the New York Times Building was far less of a loss and I don't think most Americans would dispute that. Osama, you don't mind being called Osama do you? Of course not. Especially since you advocate killing mothers, fathers, children, interns, janitors, delivery boys. I would say with all certianty that most America would think that you are completely cracked. So crawl back into your hole and understand that she said something sick. Something that makes conservatives look mean and evil. Wishing people dead is evil and vile and there is no excuse.
There is no humor in murder.

FYI, I pay US corporate taxes....have a nice day.

Are you really saying that liberals deserve to be crushed by rubble? Blinded by flying glass? To have their skin flayed off by domestic terrorists?

I'm sure there are many WHACKED-OUT, government hating KOOKS on this site that would have a hard time chosing between any Federal Building and the New York Times Building.
To: habs4ever
And I bet you hate every minute of it. So why not just quit your U.S. job and go somewhere where the politics os more in keeping with your political sympathies.
I'm having a great day, thank you.
