This site is great. Now I'm looking for help with my yard. Can anyone suggest any sites that are as useful and knowledgeable as FreeRepublic?
Thanks.

Since you posted this, why not expand it? Does anyone have links to sites similar to this, but on other subjects?

is there a lawnandgarden.com?
Type lawn care into your browser. Type lawn care message board too.

Can anyone suggest any sites that are as useful and knowledgeable as FreeRepublic? There is no site in existence as useful and knowledgeable as FreeRepublic! The people here (us Freepers) make it so. If you need info, just post a vanity question and you will be overwhelmed with great info.

Conservative lawn care? None of that PC organic only stuff, chemistry friendly is what you are seeking?

Just last week, we had a thread here about Ft. Benning, kudzu, and goats. For what more can you ask?

Go to
www.dejanews.com. Type in "lawn & garden" with the quotes, or maybe spelling out
and. You'll get a slew of results, which identify specific messages and the
newsgroups they come from. Pick a
newsgroup and click on it to see the current topics being discussed.

Somehow I don't think you're going to find as many people excited about cutting their lawns as those excited about politics.

I agree. There is nothing out there that FR can't give you. (Plus, I checked, and there are no lawn and garden sites.)

Agreed. We do a lot of lawning and gardening, patio-building, pergola-building, cutting and pruning, growing and planting. Never found a site like FR anywhere else.

My favorite thread is the weekly Mulching / Bush Prayer thread.

Haven't been there, will check it out...;-D

There are several gardeners on the America the Right Way group over in the General Interest section of the forum. We would be happy to answer general questions about your yard. Stop by and see us!

There is a Usenet newsgroup called rec.gardens that gets thousands of hits. I have seen questions/comments in there about everything from wheat to roses.
If your newsserver doesn't pick them up, you can get to them through Google (just click the "groups" tab on the Google home page.)

Regional (climate zones) gardening/lawn care sites are the best.
The Garden Web is a pretty good site with general and regional discussion forums.
Would also recommend a Google search for your state.
Yahoo Lawn & Gardening also has a fairly active message board for lawn and gardening.

Try www.LawnRepublic.com

I would go out on a limb and post the question right here on FR on the General Forum. There are a lot of folks here that could offer you the info. you need. Just be prepared for the wise acre replies you are bound to get.

I enjoy the wise-cracks as much as the useful information. This is truely a great site.
