TALLAHASSEE · Two weeks before Florida voters go to the polls, Democratic gubernatorial candidates Daryl Jones, Bill McBride and Janet Reno will make their only statewide television appearance together Tuesday night.
A one-hour, live forum broadcast at 7 p.m. on NBC affiliates from the campus of the Palm Beach Community College offers the Democratic candidates for governor their best chance yet at distinguishing for voters their records and views on the issues.
But the focus of the evening won't be any one of the Democratic candidates or their ideas.

Says Robin Rorapaugh, McBride's campaign manager: "It's not a matter of being very, very good. It's a matter of not being very, very bad."
Translation: "It's a matter of being very, very mediocre."
It may be tough to recognize any real differences between the candidates.
The incompetency of one of the candidates caused the death of women and children at Waco. The incompetency of the other two candidates killed no one...yet.
Reno, running as a celebrity and without much money, has yet to explain how to pay for voters' No. 1 concern: public education.
She has yet to explain why she is even running. Actually I will be watching this debate primarily to see if Janet can make it thru the hour without fainting.

I can just here her answer to every question now: "I am sorry I cannot comment on this because it is an on-going investigation."

Jeb:""Good luck in the non-debate, Dem opponents! And, BTW,
before you put the audience to sleep, please mention my campaign's
newest endorsement -- from the FL Restaurant Association! Let's see...Bush-Brogan has now received endorsements from the Florida Firefighters Association, the Fraternal Order of Police, the Florida Police Benevolent Association, the Florida Health Care Association, the Florida Home Builders Association, and the Florida Medical Association. Remember to mention these voters, as they'll all be watching! Thanks!"

I can just picture the news report following the debate:
And just before fainting on stage, Janet Reno replied to the first question by saying, "I am sorry I cannot comment on this because it is an on-going investigation."

I'm not as worried about her fainting as I am worried that she will faint and have on no underwear! Call Haz-mat!

Hey, Palm Beach where else? Does she get to debate Jeb live in this election? Now that would be fun to watch!

FYI Democrats hold a 44.7-to-34.2 percent registration edge over Republicans in Palm Beach County and have the hottest primary Sept. 10 with their Janet Reno-Bill McBride main event. But absentee ballot requests are almost even so far. Late last week, the elections office had mailed 4,964 absentee ballots to Dems and 4,829 to Republicans.

And, the debate tomorrow will surely bore us to tears in between the laughter.
The good news is that American Idol is on later tomorrow night - at least they are competing for a recording contract. The dem candidates are simply fighting over who will LOSE to Governor Bush.
And, we must keep in mind that Jeb won't be there to correct all the lies they will be spouting in addition to what questions are posed by the moderator. If the moderator is a dem, all the questions will be anti-Jeb to begin with.
Truth will be absent tomorrow night during the dem guv debate. I wonder if the dem's favorite "t" word will be uttered though "taxes".
FYI: Janet's making another road trip in her pick up truck. She won't pick up any votes though.

(Will Reno Faint?) Only if she is subjected to a prayer asking that God help her do the right thing and have good judgement.

Let's stop being on the defensive and start offending the whole vast left wing conspiracy....a la Ann Coulter and...Norman Liebmann.(^:
Even as one chafes in the manacles and leg irons of political correctness, one wants to retain a sense of chivalry. But, the lady does damage to the nation and, while I do not relish it, I consider disparaging her in any way available an obligation of citizenship. More, her caricature implacability invites aspersion,
so -
Reno is rigid, grim, and sour. She has the demeanor of a totem pole with a grudge. Buster Keaton looked happier at his mother's funeral. If she was furniture you'd be stuck with her after everything else in a garage sale went. Her stern obduracy suggests a nurse using the power of her station to withhold the bedpan. Even in that urgency, one would be ambivalent about summoning her.
She is the only person in the Clinton Administration who has never been accused of being effeminate. It's said, she has no sexual orientation so the people at the office are going to surprise her with one. (So far, there's no date set for the drawing. )
Reno is no chicken. She wears orthopedic lipstick, owns a condo at the Jurassic Terrace Apartments and visits a paleontologist for yearly checkups. No one knows her exact age but, if she was a race horse they'd have shot her long ago.
She is not susceptible to fashion trends. When she gets all dressed up she looks like a medieval cathedral. Her wardrobe tells a tale of someone who ran out of luck in a thrift shop. Any frock she wears to work would make Elsa clench..
Not only did The Jenny Jones Show refuse to give her a "makeover" but Black and Decker wouldn't bid on the job. She might be more presentable if she would only take a few extra years with herself in front of the mirror in the morning, or drop in at Pep Boys once a month and have them rotate the bolts on her neck. Children who think they recognize her from the movies invariably ask her to rub her hands together and say, ".... and your little dog, too!!." I don't mean to infer Reno is unattractive. Say rather, she is Dick Morris's best chance of getting his money back.

Oh, RC, don't be too hard on the left - why would you believe, only a year after I started posting about Gov Bush (and saying in my editorials that I am an INDEPENDENT), a Dem web site FINALLY mentioned: INDEPENDENT VOTERS In this FL race. Only took them a whole year! Wow! They are really paying attention to the voters who will decide this election! They are so on top of it, I am amazed! Only 12 months to acknowledge me and thousands of other FL voters who will DECIDE who wins it in FL! Thanks, Dems! You sure are quick! Meanwhile, FreeRepublic here has been letting me post on this race for a year - WELCOMING INDEPDENTS. Yep, RC, the left is really catching up.... :)

October 22 is the date she will debate Gov Bush. Also, he agreed to a total of three debates. I will ping you on that thread.

To tell you the truth, I'm surprised there are that many GOP voters in Palm Beach County to begin with.

I have a dream (said in a Martin Luther King voice) that someday you will register as a Republican. You're almost there. You're getting close.
We're not half as evil as you once thought. ;-)

They don't have our captain: summer. (^:
