COLLEGE ADMISSION OFFICER IN VIRGINIA TELLS HISPANIC NEWSPAPER HOW ILLEGALS CAN GET AROUND SYSTEM
Washington Hispanic Newspaper (hard copy) ^ | 23 August 2002 | Mitzi Macias Dance, (in Spanish)

Posted on 08/29/2002 9:46:35 AM PDT by AmericanInTokyo

The weekly Spanish-language newspaper for the D.C. area, Washington Hispanic, does not think anyone is listening in, apparantly.

Here is an starkly frank comment by an Admissions Officer at the Northern Virginia Community College (NOVA) discussing openly (in Spanish) in this week's edition how presumed illegal aliens can get around regulations to study at the taxpayer-funded college.

Again, it should be noted that NOVA is a state-run institution, funded by tax dollars. State and federal legislators may want to follow up to see if Miss Mariella Abanto's comments reflect official school policy...and how widespread this is throughout the U.S.A. SCROLL DOWN FOR THE ENGLISH (or add comments on the translation, if possible).

ENGLISH (BABELFISH) TEXT: "According to Ms. Mariella Abanto, assistant in the registrar office of Northern Virginia Community College (NOVA), the college does not have any have any requirement/authorization to report (foreign) students to the Immigration and Naturalization Service--INS. Before the occurences of September 11th the students who wanted to register for classes simply had to show their passport. But in these days the process has become complicated. For this reason, Mariella Abanto recommends for the students to just fill out the forms as normal, and when you come to the space that solicits your social security number (SSN) leave it blank. If you are requested to show a passport, just show it. Those in Admissions are very protective with the information they are provided. However, they won't be able to register for credit classes, but can register for non-credits at NOVA.....To be admitted to these NOVA courses, there is not a single legal requirement as far as 'migratory status' is concerned, just a desire to study and value for the course."

Hmmm. They won't be able to get credit, but they'll be bodies in the classroom. Guess this is designed to keep that faculty busy.....

This is the obvious agenda of in virtually every state college or university. They are willing to do most anything legal or illegal in order to inflate their numbers, pump their bureaucratic power and justify inflated budgets and salaries.

They simply HATE traditional White America, or anything that smacks of Conservative, Christian, Constitutional Republic or Heterosexual.

State Colleges and Universities are favorite places for Homos and Marxists and other pseudo-intellectual wackos to hide out, draw a check and appear respectable.

Sometimes I think the only thing left to save America will be another civil war.

In my opinion anyone who assist an illegal alien in circumventing the law should be jailed. There are provisions for this in Title 8, Chapter 12.

It is past time for the government to start doing its job.

The Congressman for the NorthernVirginia College district is probably liberal, but who knows, maybe not? At the very least, this article should go to INS, FBI as well as a conservative Congressman or State Senator in Virginia who can make an example of this place.

Regarding post #9, what can we do in this specific case? Is there a group or lawmaker that will look into that particular situation (I know thousands of other such situations abound, though). Thanks for the charts, too.

Do you have a site for your chart. My soon-to-be-replaced monitor makes it too blurry to read.

I have never seen anything like this. A person can buy fake ID's (Social Security Cards/birth certificates) on almost every street corner. The Matriculas Consulares card allows them to open checking accounts and send money back to Mexico rather than keeping the money in our economy. With the MC card they can get drivers license and become registered to vote in our elections under Motor Voter.

I had lunch with a friend of mine that told me that they have a Mexican woman in her 40's or 50's working for them but her birth certificate says she is 25 years old. The company is afraid to do anything because they might get sued for discrimination. If you or I tried that we would end up in Leavenworth.

One set of rules for them and a totally different set for us!!

Its pretty bad. We have to support the politicians in office or going for office who really are against this kind of nonsense, and whom we can trust not to go back on their promises like so many double-talking RINOs of late.....

Mariella Abanto recommends

I would say that advising someone to participate in an illegal activity is certainly grounds for disciplinary action, wouldn't you?

You can Click Here and make a document out of it and then enlarge it with image preview or some program like that. It is still blurry.

Lately I find myself going to the polls to vote against someone rather than to vote for someone. It should be the other way around.
