Accoording to the yearly map it looks like 1940 was the hottest. Now..the enviro wackos tell us that we are headed for big trouble because of the increasing number of automobiles.

I'm not sure but don't we have about 10 times as many automobiles now than we did in 1940? If that's the case we should all be burnt to a crisp from global warming.

10/4 on that one, Boris. I've got my Hemulator tuned up and waiting for the big one. Nobody gets jargon by the BS inquisition.

Great List. It forgot one movie that I know of. In "Battle Cry," the Marines are at radio school, and Tab Hunter or Aldo Ray taps out the name of the girlfriend, Pat Rogers.

Anybody know of a website where this old ditty-bop can go to refresh his skills?

PBS about 2 to 3 months ago had a big two hour deal on why the Vikings left Greenland. When they got there in 1000AD, Greenland was green and lush. When they left in 1400AD, it was an ice bowl. It's still an ice bowl as far as I know. We have quite a bit of warming to do to even get to the level of 1000AD, and I'm quite sure the warming back then wasn't due to man made hydrocarbon emissions, and I believe that earth may have been even warmer in the distant past.

So we have global warming. So what?

According to some, "global warming," if it exists, would cause increased snowfall in cold regions, thereby increasing glacier size.

I have heard that theory too. I wish I had heard it before I went there and saw the glacier footprint maps. I didn't think to compare the temps to the footprints.

This data is available. It frosts me no end that it isn't published in the popular media so we can all see it and come to our own conclusions.
But that wouldn't advance the "politically correct" argument, would it?

Incorrect. The Antartic glaciers are over land. The Arctic ice cap is nothing but a floating mass of ice.

You're confusing the ice shelf with the glaciers. They are two different things. It's true that the Arctic ice shelf is over water, and the Antarctic ice shelf is over land and water, but the glaciers in Alaska that are used as evidence of "global warming" are primarily over land.
And, BTW, the Arctic ice shelf melts somewhat every summer.

They talked about mosquitos being observed, not uncommon in Alaska but usually not seen on the north arctcic shoreline.

I spent eight years working in the oilfields up there in Prudhoe Bay, on the Arctic coast, and let me tell you the mosquito clouds darked the sun at times. They would get under the hem of my pants and bite any flesh they could find as they crawled up my legs. I have never seen any that were more blood thirsty.

Strange, Discover magazine is running an article about how the Arctic ice cap is melting, and the Gulf Stream is going to be "Overpowered" by a stream of fresh cold water and we're all going to die in a new ice age as ocean temps drop...

And how it's due to global worming....

I laugh at them.
