So much for assimilation.
Depends on your definition of "American". It was the flag of the Confederate States of America.
I agree that we seem to be headed for the day when loyal Americans are called to heed Mr. Jefferson's advice...
But when that day comes the mosle-maniacs are going to have to pick a number, stand in line and wait their turn.
...the Confederate Flag is as American as Apple Pie and Corn Bread! (Ya'll)

Guaranteed, in all of these forums and programs, they will talk about 'courage, strength, diversity, a tragedy (as if somehow it was an act of God such as an earthquake)' etc etc. There will be nary a reference to the fact that we actually had AN ENEMY that brought this all about. The "ENEMY" will be a phantom subject. There will be not talk of VICTORY, or of annihilating our enemy into oblivion. Is is actually politically incorrect to talk about al-Qaida? This is wierd.
I cannot imagine this for any other war America has been in since it's beginning.
Dear Oregon CT. I am home...and I fly the Confederate Battle flag as I feel appropriate. It is an American Flag - make no doubt about it.
I wouldn't dream of expecting you to understand ... but I would love to bounce my ALL AMERICAN resume(read my Freeper Bio) against yours. Only one thing not listed ... I'm also a staff assistant to a U.S. Congressman ...from my South-By-God-Carolina.

P.S. Please, mind your language if you care to reply me. It's not polite...
You know, I didn't even think of that angle - must be the southern heat that we're experiencing this week! Pray for cooler weather and drink a Mint Julip: The classic drink of the South, horse racing, hot days and cool nights. Mix; Straight Kentucky bourbon, mint sprigs, spring water and fine granulated sugar are the mixins for this cocktail.
I swear, it will make you want to go South!
Take care Sir; good to hear from you, and Southern Regards.
