Police find cocaine on Florida Governor Bush's daughter

Police find cocaine on Florida Governor Bush's daughter By MIKE BRANOM Associated Press Writer ORLANDO -- Gov. Jeb Bush's daughter was found with cocaine at a rehabilitation center where she is undergoing drug treatment, police said Tuesday.

Police were called to the Center for Drug Free Living in Orlando late Monday, where workers gave them a substance they said they found on Noelle Bush, 25, Police Sgt. Orlando Rolon said.

The workers told police that the two grams of powder tested positive for cocaine, but police didn't immediately arrest her because they couldn't obtain a sworn statement that she was in possession of cocaine, Rolon said.

The investigation will continue, said Rolon, who added that police hadn't interviewed Noelle Bush as of Tuesday morning.

Possession of any amount of cocaine is a felony, said police.

She was arrested in January at a Tallahassee pharmacy drive-through window for allegedly trying to buy the anti-anxiety drug Xanax with a fraudulent prescription.

In July, Noelle Bush was found to be in contempt of court because a worker at the treatment center found her carrying prescription pills. A judge sent her to jail for three days.

Obviously, this woman has a drug problem -- and legalization is her solution?

Obvious to who? You? Simply enjoying something does not a problem make. Treatment is jail when it is not voluntary. When it is voluntary, then it is like weight watchers. Its your choice to either stay on of hop off.

"She probably bought it from one of the treatment personnel."

And this is why there isn't a signed statement as that individual didn't cover his/her tracks well enough. The entire purpose is the political smear, not the ramifications to the individual framed. As long as the media gets wind of it the job has been accomplished. Of course, there still is the possibility that she did buy it and it wasn't planted but one would hope not.

The headline is somewhat inaccurate, and is not the same as the one on the original site, at least not now. The difference is that the FR title indicates that the Police found the cocaine, whereas the story says that the workers at the center found it. The title at the site says "Police say cocaine found on Governor Bush's daughter", which is more accurate, but still somewhat implies that the police were the ones who found the cocaine.

As far as not arresting her, they can't if they didn't see the offense and no one would sign a statement that they saw it. They didn't even test to see if there was an offense, that is if the substance found was cocaine.

That said, it's probably true that she had cocaine, she seems to be on quite a downward spiral. If it was an alcholic rehab place, would anybody be surprised that if one of the "clients" managed to get some hooch?

I have tremendous respect for both the President and the Governor, but these Bush daughters have become an endless source of embarrassment to the family. I think it's time for some old-fashioned spankings.

For the good of the country I'll volunteer to spank W's daughters.

It was probably just a small amount used for medicinal purpose.

Uh I never advocated that, nice try at twisting words though.

No twisting. Here is what you said:

Whew, don't you think her life is already ruined and her "property" went to the buying of your precious drugs.

in response to this:

Nice weasel. Lock her in jail, throw away the key, ruin her life, seize whatever property she owns, and make her a pariah. This is what you Wodders want, this is what you Wodders should get

Does this new attitude of your extend to everybody?

Perhaps this unfortunate experience will lead Clan Bush to lead the charge for the common-sense proposal to DECRIMINALIZE drugs and begin the long delayed swing AWAY from the costly War on Drugs

Since this offence appears to have been committed by a member of his family, it will now be absolutely impossible for the governor to take up this cause, even if he wanted to. It would be seen as his making law for his family's benefit.

Let's try a different tack:

1) A Rehab center full of dopers, not the nicest of people

2) A rehab center dependent on some sort of Govt subsidy or do gooder contributor that abhors conservatives,

3) A state that defeated the Democrats chosen successor to Clintoon

4) A motive to discredit the Govenor just before election time

5) A motive to discredit the President just before a major declaration

Maybe she did possess the cocain, maybe its time to turn the conspiracy tables onto the other side for a change.

Another sad example of drugs taking people.

Drugs take people like guns kill.

"....wonder what the freeper/"day in the life of"-crowd would say if this had been Chelsea or some niece of Hilary's? There would be chuckles all around and a thread probably stretching into the triple digits of posts....."

Possibly. On the other hand, if Clinton had ever showed a sense of personal responsibility, had declined to gleefully answer questions about his past use of drugs and not publicly stated his willingness to use them again on a major cable channel catering to young people, then maybe the reaction would have been pretty much the same.

I think the problem is more that she doesn't want to get clean. She's in forced treatment. She's going to have to make the decision before anything's going to happen.

There seems to be a pattern here on FR. Whenever someone flings out the term neo-con, they usually are making an idiotic statement.

Hey Rock, hang this on your wall.

Why should I? She's not my daughter. What a person looks like is their own buisness. What do you want? The beauty police? It's a little thing called "consequences of your actions." Most conservatives like to say it. I actually have the stomach for it.

Suppose I call the cops, give them a bag of white powder that I said 'tested positive for cocaine' and said I found it on CWRWinger?

The cops didn't find her in possession of cocaine, there is no chain of evidence or control of the cocaine....

This is nonsense--it could even be a political dirty trick.

"Democrat dirty tricks in duplicity with the media. Won't be the last before November. This is what they do.

Exactly! The left will take any weakness and use it as a tool. It is the dems calling card to play dirty. They have no ethics, no morals, but those of Machiavelli."

This young woman has repeatedly violated the law, she is clearly an addict, she is in rehab for one addiction, and now crosses up again and its the Democrats fault? Get real, this woman is sick, not the victim of some grand Democratic conspricy. I don't care whose daughter she is, what party her parents belong to, she is one troubled person.

I think so, after he escaped from rehab and went on a hooker and crack smoking benge.

Actually he didn't escape from rehab, the hooker and the drugs were available IN rehab, in my county.
