Police find cocaine on Florida Governor Bush's daughter

Police find cocaine on Florida Governor Bush's daughter By MIKE BRANOM Associated Press Writer ORLANDO -- Gov. Jeb Bush's daughter was found with cocaine at a rehabilitation center where she is undergoing drug treatment, police said Tuesday.

Police were called to the Center for Drug Free Living in Orlando late Monday, where workers gave them a substance they said they found on Noelle Bush, 25, Police Sgt. Orlando Rolon said.

The workers told police that the two grams of powder tested positive for cocaine, but police didn't immediately arrest her because they couldn't obtain a sworn statement that she was in possession of cocaine, Rolon said.

The investigation will continue, said Rolon, who added that police hadn't interviewed Noelle Bush as of Tuesday morning.

Possession of any amount of cocaine is a felony, said police.

She was arrested in January at a Tallahassee pharmacy drive-through window for allegedly trying to buy the anti-anxiety drug Xanax with a fraudulent prescription.

In July, Noelle Bush was found to be in contempt of court because a worker at the treatment center found her carrying prescription pills. A judge sent her to jail for three days.

Anyone with a substance abuse/addiction problem will do anything, and I mean ANYTHING to get what they need. They will compartmentalize that aspect of their life from outsiders, appearing to seem normal while on the inside, their every thought and action is governed by substance/food/vomiting up food/hiding pills/alchohol/etc...The behavior is pathological, will only get worse with time, most likely will not be overcome, and she will end up dead because she is too rich to do some serious time. The only thing to save her will be a $10,000 per month "Home", where she is in custody of professionals and is receiving a weekly jolt of 20,000 volts through her noggin followed by plenty of thorazine.

she's going to be looking at some time in the lock up if she can't stay clean.

If...IF?????Gald she lives in a 15 strikes and your out state.
I do feel sympathy for her family, but she is 24 years old, and if this was anyone but the daughter of the Gov, she would be in prison by now.
Sorry, but hypocracy (no matter where or by whom) pi$$es me off!

but these Bush daughters have become an endless source of embarrassment to the family

My only comment would be they are still young, and many a young person has turned their life around and become useful members of the community.

Perhaps your statement could have been made about the President himself in his younger days.

Before we all cry "FOUL!" at this story, examine the line above. The police did not find the substance in possession of Miss Bush. The statement that it was taken from her is worthless in court unless backed by a signed affadavid that would also have to be sworn to in court. Employees of rehabilitation centers are routinely prohibited from making testimony against patients for offenses such as these as a condition of employment. Otherwise, no parent would send a child to that facility in the fear of the child being sent to jail if they make another "slip" (a common term for it in the rehab biz)

As to where she got it, I would be looking at employees, for the same reason you have to look at prison guards as the supplier in prison for the simple reason that no one else can go get it! What better place to sell drugs than to a "captive audience" of addicts? (Another reason for the rehab institution to "protect" the inmates from the legal system, to hide their own culpability)

I think it's time for some old-fashioned spankings.

All of the women in question are adults.

...There is no excuse for what she did, but if Democrat operatives helped her get drugs to disgrace her father, I wouldn't be surprised.

All the more appropriate, then.

Employees of rehabilitation centers are routinely prohibited from making testimony against patients for offenses such as these as a condition of employment.

So the question is (a) why did they call the police and (b) why did they name Noelle Bush as the offender?

It seems to me, in light of what you say, that even if they did call the police as part of procedure or to "dispose of" the material, that they wouldn't name the patient on whom they found it. To bring in the police, tell the police who had it and then refuse to testify to it seems bizarre to me.

Little Miss Bush needs to get her act together.

I mean, really.

Doth not rank have its privilege?

If your dad runs the state, you really oughta be able to find someone else to procure your Xanax for you - you shouldn't have to take the phony scrip to Walgreens yourself.

....wonder what the freeper/"day in the life of"-crowd would say if this had been Chelsea or some niece of Hilary's? There would be chuckles all around and a thread probably stretching into the triple digits of posts.....

Almost. This is news and it is publication is worthy. This FReeper though beleives that if Chelsea was found with illegal drugs it would be hushed up and wouldnt make the news. Kind of like when Al Gore III was caught with MJ.

Perhaps this unfortunate experience will lead Clan Bush to lead the charge for the common-sense proposal to DECRIMINALIZE drugs and begin the long delayed swing AWAY from the costly War on Drugs (in $$ and personal freedom) TO the far less costly of TREATMENT for these people.

(LONG PAUSE!)

NAAAAHHHHHHHHHH!

Oh, right. If this were some black kid, I don't think the police would have waited until they 'obtained' a statement. They would have thrown his ass in jail!

Like Strawberry and Gooden? Or how about Nate Newton walking free after being found with over 200 pounds of MJ in his car. TWICE!

I was shocked to find out various Kennedys had "tried" heroin. Luckily, it was only that one time.

That is the only negative about this forum. It is great for breaking news, but if this would have been a Dem's daughter, they would want to impeach him, but since it is Jeb's we all need to pray for her.

Another sad example of drugs taking people.

Yeah right, and guns kill children.

People make their own choices, and quite frankly, I reject the notion that just because a person enjoys something, they have a "problem". It is quite common to enjoy something that is not necessarily good for you. Noelle is not in a treatment center because she has a problem of any kind. She is there because of the stupid notion that an adult can't put what they want in their own bodies.
