Police find cocaine on Florida Governor Bush's daughter

Police find cocaine on Florida Governor Bush's daughter By MIKE BRANOM Associated Press Writer ORLANDO -- Gov. Jeb Bush's daughter was found with cocaine at a rehabilitation center where she is undergoing drug treatment, police said Tuesday.

Police were called to the Center for Drug Free Living in Orlando late Monday, where workers gave them a substance they said they found on Noelle Bush, 25, Police Sgt. Orlando Rolon said.

The workers told police that the two grams of powder tested positive for cocaine, but police didn't immediately arrest her because they couldn't obtain a sworn statement that she was in possession of cocaine, Rolon said.

The investigation will continue, said Rolon, who added that police hadn't interviewed Noelle Bush as of Tuesday morning.

Possession of any amount of cocaine is a felony, said police.

She was arrested in January at a Tallahassee pharmacy drive-through window for allegedly trying to buy the anti-anxiety drug Xanax with a fraudulent prescription.

In July, Noelle Bush was found to be in contempt of court because a worker at the treatment center found her carrying prescription pills. A judge sent her to jail for three days.

How have the Bush twins been embarassments? Because they have been found to consume alcohol before the age of 21? BFD!

The only reason it was news is because they were Bush's daughters. When one of Gore's daughters was ticketed for underage drinking it barely made the local news, let alone national news for a week straight. And Al Gore III being caught with MJ didnt make national news at all. And his arrest for doing 97 MPH in a 55 MPH zone in NC was sat on for a week until the DNC convention was over.

All of the women in question are adults.

Then I say they should grow up and start acting like it. The President and his brother have enough issues to deal with as it is without all this nonsense.

This story looks very suspicious. Since when do rehab centers test substances for cocaine. I thought that was the job of the police. Looks like a set-up. This woman has problems, but things were laid out for the police but no one is willing to be held legally responsible for this charge. Is everyone afraid of perjury or misleading the police?

So what have you done since you were 18. Or are you a shut-in?

Ok, I really meant to say "poor, black (or white), urban kid." Strawberry and Gooden had money to pay for multiple treatments.

Nate Newton was caught in my parish (county), by the way. If I know our local justice system (and I do), he won't avoid jail forever.

They are acting like adults. They are living their own lives. Their father's chosen careers should not impact thier lives. And if it wasn't illegal to put funny chemicals in your own body, this wouldn't be an issue to begin with. Maybe the Bush bros. should get on the decriminalization bandwagon.

I feel so bad for this family.. Nothing political I just know what it's like to have a family member who just can't or won't get off the stuff.

She will probably end up killing herself one way or the other. My sons, brother in law passed away last year after years and years of this same type behavior.. He was only 38. It was so sad to watch his family try to help him and nothing they did seemed to get through to him.

If I were Gov. Bush I would have everyone working at this treatment center terminated for allowing drugs to be obtained by the patients.

I know a lot of poor people that are given multiple chances after being caught.

She's in rehab and trying to get her life turned around. The story is very vague and the powder was not found in her possession and the timing is very suspicious, IMO.

But anyway she isn't shouting from the rooftops that drugs are benign as the Libertarian contingent on FR does. Instead of condemning her I am praying for her and her family. I condemn those who say that drugs are benign and not a threat to society(i.e stoner Libertarians who prostylatize the drug culture).

I wonder how she got the stuff? Poor girl.

That would be funny if it wasn't so damn sad. Drugs are available everywhere in society, even in maximum security prisons. The WOD is a bust. And so are our rights.

So what? End the WOD and give her and others treatment. Case closed.

Harm reduction? She's already in treatment -- what do you propose?

So, we give up the WOD, make all drugs legal, and this would help Noelle Bush how?
