I've had that thought too.

I told my wife on 24 Sep 2001 (My step-fathers birthday, that why I remember the exact date) that the best thing that could happen would be for Osama to get killed and no one to know it.

With that senario it eliminates the terrorist cries of "martyr". and at the same time it eliminates the liberals cries of "it done, we can stop now".

And if the liberal media believes that the the death of Bin Laden is the end of the war of terror, then it just proves me to that they don't understand terrorism at all.

But the timing of this is interesting. "He's dead, you can all go home now. Nothing more to see and forget about Iraq."

Wow......what a coinkydink, huh? Go figure.

Yep...

It's the Saddam Hussein alternative plan...

Let bin Laden take full and complete credit so that no one else can be blamed for working with him.

No need to continue the fight, America...

"The bad guy is dead now and no one helped him."

"No one, he was on his own, really he was."

Iraqi leader Hussein : "We didn't get along with him, really. Never mind those training camps or those Iraqi diplomats, those were just accidental meetings. Bin Laden is roome temperature now, we promise."

Imad Mugniyah in Syria agrees: "Uh yeah. Osama's dead now, he really is. He did the Beirut thing, not me. Yeah, that's the ticket. And don't blame it on Fatah either, they're totally innocent. Bin Laden is dead now so why don't you relax a little. Have a beer. That's it... I'll buy. "

And the Iranian mullahs want to add, "It wasn't us! Bin Laden did it all. He even did that embassy thing and the mines in the Gulf. And it wasn't us that funded Hezbollah and Hamas, it was bin Laden, and he was the one who paid to build that nuclear reactor too. Honest. Bin Laden is dead now so you guys can go home."

And the Syrians too: "Those attacks on the Druze and christians in Lebanon, and those attacks you attributed to us, were bin LAden's fault. He really got around. And no, that wasn't Atta who visited this country before 9/11. Bin Laden is dead now so you can quit."

And Cuba is quick to come forward : "No, that wasn't Castro who told the Iranians that 'together we will bring america to her knees' before 911. That was bin Laden. And we didn't have a thing to do with messing with NY's air traffic control system a while back. That was Bin Laden. Had to be, remember those Afghans picked up in the Cayman Islands a while back with the $2 million? They escaped from Cuba, that's it. We caught them and they got free and that's why they got off the plane from Cuba with that wad of cash. We were fighting al Qaeda and bin Laden. Truly, we were."

I've actually heard of a "jihad.net" or a "jihad.com" before that is a reputed AQ site. And did Pokey 78 not say that this site originated in the Sudan?

jihad.com is hosted out of Toronto, but where it's hosted doesn't mean much.

BTW, I think he's as dead as a doornail.

I'm reserving judgment.

This is all so bizarre. On the anniversary you think they would be shouting about their success and death to americans and we will destroy you etc...instead...supposedly they tell us he is dead

Within minutes, a burly, curly haired man was brought out with his entire face covered by a blindfold. Hundreds of policemen fired off volleys of gunfire to celebrate his capture. Would they celebrate capturing a low level Al-Qaeda??

Haven't you noticed? In the various Islamic countries, they regard any happy moment as the ideal opportunity to fire off automatic weapons. They even do it at their weddings--sometimes killing the guests by mistake. These people are an exceptionally trigger-happy bunch...

This one's kinda tough to figure out.

Is it better to imagine him as having been killed by some really high-tech device, the complexity of which his small mind could never grasp or something simple and straight forward and All-American like a 15,000# Daisy Cutter?

I personally would like to think he got it in single combat from a 19 year old Lance Corporal from Topeka, Kansas, who stuck his grandaddy's heirloom K-bar between between the goat humper's ribs. I guess that's just the romantic in me.

This was found on the internet, perhaps a message to the founder of FreeRepublic?

Yes, I suppose it is.
The word reminds me of my college philosophy class, though!
