Has it occurred to anyone else that perhaps we killed him and kept it secret? It would be a smart move. It would avoid any retribution that loyal followers, overcome by emotion, would commit. It would allow us to keep the pressure on and avoid calls that the "mission was complete." I think he's dead and I think we know he's dead. I think swooped in, killed or captured him and his group, then left no clues behind. This is the best possible solution to the Bin Laden problem.

I've had that thought too.

I told my wife on 24 Sep 2001 (My step-fathers birthday, that why I remember the exact date) that the best thing that could happen would be for Osama to get killed and no one to know it.

With that senario it eliminates the terrorist cries of "martyr". and at the same time it eliminates the liberals cries of "it done, we can stop now".

Hmmm... if so, leaking increasingly reliable hints, but without any one definitive announcement, would be just the thing to pre-empt a sudden admission by the goblins that Osama bin Dead. (Ironically, this is just the strategy Clowntoon used to defuse his various crimes and scandals.)

The past year of speculation, no-show "new tapes", etc. seems to have had just that effect. I suspect that even his own followers don't know whether to believe this story is the real deal.
