"seems weird that they are still on the highway, doesn't it?"

Not necessarily. They might have stopped to sleep during the day and got back on the road later. What I find odd is that they would draw attention to themselves by going through a toll booth without paying....unless they were PLANNING to get stopped. Distraction is what comes to mind. I hope not, but it's hard to believe that even they are dumb enough to to make that kind of a bungle accidentally.

It could be as simple as they'd had a beer or two. If they come from tea-totaling countries, maybe they don't handle alcohol well. But we certainly have heard anything like that...

I was referring to the fact that the police have been on the highway this long. It's been about nine hours now since they pulled the people over. The highway is still closed. I live in Naples, and we are quite far from Georgia. I'm not sure where Calhoun is, but we're about seven hours from the Georgia border.

I do wonder if some of thes guys are yanking our chain. But consider this. These guys stand a good chance of being detained without trial for a loooooong time. If something big happens and they're suspected of being in the conspiracy, they have a problem. They get locked up for life without being martyred. That could hurt.

Perhaps they didnt have any change or maybe they just dont have any respect for the law. On the other hand if they think they are great martyrs, they may think they are so fantastic that they couldnt possibly get caught.

On the other hand they may just be stupid. Richard Reid and the guy that started a gun fight at the El Al ticket counter at LAX come to mind. Maybe to be a martyr for Allah you dont have to be a crazy Islamic true believer, just stupid.
