"It is important that we know"

Hmmm...talking down... ... "that not all Muslims are crazed fanatics such as OBL"

...Add base accusations while taking down....

,,, "just as not all Christians are hate-filled bigots such as The Right Reverend Fred Phelps of "God Hates Fags" fame."

....Stir in large quantity of insult....

Great way to convert the maxumum number of FReepers who do NOT and WILL NOT condone the murder of innocent Muslims...or ANY innocent person...to the "NUKE 'EM ALL CROWD."

Very original use of reverse psychology. If that was your intent, I commend you for your effeciency and success.

WELL, last night we went to the local fair and came across a muslim booth. My husband and I asked the guys in the booth all the questions we always wanted to ask and everything they said backed up the stuff we read here on FR.

So are you saying that this means all Muslims are just like this? What if you had met a group of Muslims who said that those other Muslims you talked to were full of crap? Which group would you believe? Or what if you had gone to the Rev. Fred Phelps booth. Does he represent all of Christianity?

might be a good idea if the ones that aren't 'like this' wear a flag hat or somethin', least for the next year or two ...

Peace is a temporary state... it is not the mosque's purpose. Leave it to a soccermom-type to fall for the delusion.
Muslims around the world support the murder of Jews and Christians... Mormons do not.
Stop with the attempts at equivalency.

If your goal is to promote understanding and prevent genocide, your combative style is having the opposite effect.

My goal is to prevent genocide and protect the innocent. While perfectly happy to see the bad guys brought to justice, I deeply resent posters like you ruining an awful lot of hard work toward the prevention of genocide and protection of innocents...including, equally, Muslim innocents.

At this time, the "nuke 'em all" crowd does NOT reflect the views of the Commander-in-Chief of the Military which easily ousted the Taliban and will, if necessary, do the same to Saddam's regime. However, if moderate Muslims don't cut with the "we are a religion of peace" propaganda and clean out the cancer in Islam's midst, genocide is exactly what will happen.

Christians police their own. Radical Islam's favorite new example of moral relativism is Timothy McVeigh. McVeigh also happens to be a perfect example of how we Christians police ouw own. Islam must, if it wants to survive, follow the same example.

Except that Phelps has a following of 10 and Osama(and other Islamic terrorists) have a following of thousands.

If you want to better understand the minds at work here, rent a copy of "Lawrence of Arabia." Certainly NOT the definitive work on the Middle East, but revealing nonetheless. In one scene near the end of the film, another character suggests that Lawrence is a good liar. The king (played by the late, great Sir Alec Guiness) overhears him and comments, "He should be. He's nearly an Arab."

LYING IS A WAY OF LIFE THERE -- ESPECIALLY TO THE INFIDEL. That's US folks -- that's US.

How does it feel to be on the same moral plane as the Muslim Fanatics who say that America is the Great Satan?

So are you saying that this means all Muslims are just like this?

I am saying that these muslims were there to represent the Islamic Information Center of Seattle.

They said that there were no muslims involved in the planes that were flown into the WTC. When I brought up the flight attendant who had called in the seat numbers to someone from the plane, seat numbers of the hijackers, they dismissed that too by saying that's what they said on tv, but they didn't believe it.

The booth was set up to provide information to the public about their religion. They had a tv going in the background with mecca on-screen and zillions of info pamphlets of which I took a few.

I think this means that to find stories like the ones you read about which slam the muslims, you don't have to go to Iraq or Afghanistan. You can find muslims right here in Seattle, ones chosen to represent their religion in a public setting, who will tell you all the same things you read in the articles about them.

This strongly indicates to me that it is all true, that the average joe-blow muslim on the street is saying and thinking the same things as the ones cheering the fall of the WTC in Pakistan.

The evil is pervasive and deeply sown. The loyalty they have to each other far exceeds what we have to each other as Americans. We need to wise up and get a clue. Especially you.

perhaps i should clarify:

in a big part of the country, until shown evidence/attitudes to the contrary,
those with any common sense are prejudicial toward muslims.

shocking to you, i'm sure, but a stone fact in this household ...

I don't know. You are the one spewing the religious equivalency propaganda. I'm not buying it. I do not exist on that immoral plane.

I have no doubt that, there are Muslims who interprept the Qu'ran in a benign way, but I'm afraid they are a very small minority. Thus this article should have been directed to the majority of the islamic world, where it would do the most good. The small minority of Muslims who truly beleive in peace, and love for their fellow human beings should voice very strongly(to the manistream islam) their beleif, even at the risks of their own lives. This is the only way the rest of the world will beleive that islam is a religion of Peace.
