Planned ESSDACK workshop raises eyebrows (I might be homosexual can you let me know?)

A workshop that focuses on training educators to work with gay and lesbian students as young as kindergarten concerns some local educators worried about "labeling" students.

Others say that counselors need to be able to help young homosexuals when they ask for guidance.

The seminar, titled "Working with Gay, Lesbian and Transgender Students K-12," is scheduled for 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. Friday at the headquarters of Hutchinson-based educational services consortium ESSDACK.

Scheduled at the request of guidance counselors in the region, the workshop will teach educators how to better serve the needs of gay and lesbian students, officials said.

After seeing the tri-fold brochure advertising the conference, however, some educators - particularly those who work in early childhood development - worry that the session might also encourage the "profiling" of gay students.

"We shouldn't be looking at the sexual orientation of students," said Chris Rocco, a longtime early-childhood educator who works with preschool children at a child-care center in Hutchinson. "We should value individuals for who they are and focus on what we can do to educate all children the best, regardless of their sexuality."

Like Rocco, Betsie Andrews, a longtime educator who has taught in elementary schools and now works with young children as the artistic director of ArtisTree, was unnerved by the "K-12" reference in the conference's title.

Andrews said her experience has taught her it's important to let children develop with positive reinforcement in their formative years. Defining kids in any way while they're developing is an unhealthy practice, she said.

"My eyebrows do go up when I look at the title," said Andrews. "I would hope that teachers aren't looking for these things when they're in front of the classroom."

Those kinds of concerns, however, come as a surprise to the workshop's two presenters, as well as to officials at ESSDACK, who say the workshop's purpose is to promote awareness, not to teach educators how to identify gay students.

With bullying a major issue, scheduling a session to deal with the unique issues affecting gay students - reportedly an oft-harassed minority - made sense to the group of about 20 counselors who advised ESSDACK to schedule a workshop on the issue, said ESSDACK at-risk specialist Linda Schmidt.

"We want all kids to get the best possible education and feel safe in the school setting," said Lyons Middle School counselor Vicki Cavit, who is considering attending the session. "When kids are worried about somebody putting them down, belittling them for any reason . . . it ultimately impedes their learning."

What part of the Constitution explains the Department of Education and how our money is to be spent on this kind of stuff?

gay and lesbian students as young as kindergarten

OK, I stopped reading here. As young as kindergarten? Children in kindergarten hardly know what sex they are, let alone what sexual tendancies they have. Jeez Louise.

Only pedophiles express so much interest in how to identify and encourage youth to develop desires in playing with other people's feces and placing their penises in anuses. More proof that homosexuals are generally also pedophiles.

A workshop that focuses on training educators to work with gay and lesbian students as young as kindergarten...

----------------------

The strategy is to find momentarily confused or vulnerable little kids and steer them into homosexuality under the guise of helpong them accept themselves.

Does any one remember, oh, it was long, long, long ago.... but schools used to teach these really weird and long-forgotten subjects... I think they were called something like "reading, writing, and arithmetic"??

Defining kids in any way while they're developing is an unhealthy practice, she said.

Actually that is the very best time to "define" them. Parents, educators and other adults more or less "mold" the kids into the kind of adults they become, whether they mean to or not, and whatever that mold might become. Kids are not comlete skulls full of mush, be they are more easily molded up through the elementry years, than they will be later. But they aren't stupid either, and learn more by example and observation than by formal instruction.

This explains the D of Ed for when better to mold them into good little socialist/fascist "workers and peasants"?

Or to get them to toy around with the idea while they are still relatively innocent.

When it happens, it will make 9/11 look like a smoldering cigarette, and Hiroshima look like a campfire. It will not happen until our entire society is unanimous (or virtually unanimous) in violent sexual licentiousness... we still have a ways to go.

That's the idea. Get 'em young enough and you can tell them they're homosexual even before they really can understand it.

This is truly diabolical.

The California NEA has been especially bad at this. California parents need to be aware "they are coming for your children".

Find out what your teachers are teaching your children. Show up, unannounced in your child's classroom - and stay for the day. They cannot make you leave.

Ask the teacher to see their curriculum for the semester/year; that ususally is a tipoff - if they refuse. If they refuse, remove your child from the school. Either homeschool them, or find a neighbor or relative who is homeschooling their children and make a deal for your child.

Don't allow them to destroy your child's life just because you don't want to take the time to deal with this stuff.

Thanks, but who can stomach anymore of it?

If the law of the land has any intention of protecting America's children, then why are the ilk of these socalled educators still free to design ways to catch kids early enough to misguide their little feet down the path to perversia? Their sleasy agenda is so crystal clear that those who do not recognize it are part of it!

Children more than ever need to be protected from pedophiles and separated from any possibility of any sexual encounter with a member of their own gender, until they have reached puberty and spent quality time with a willing member of the opposite sex-homosexuality would die with those already twisted in that direction. As the twig is bent, so will grow the tree- The truth is as simple as that. When did the liars become accepted as the sages and the sages reduced to ridicule?
