Police seek woman caught on tape beating child

Police in White Settlement and Lake Worth are keeping an eye out for a woman wanted in Indiana.

Security cameras caught Madalyn Gorman severely beating a 4-year-old child inside an SUV in a small town near South Bend. The incident happened last Friday after the woman and child left a department store.

The license plate on the vehicle is registered to an address in Lake Worth.

Local police have gotten tips that Gorman may be a member of an Irish Gypsy group that operates out of an RV park in White Settlement.

Gorman is also wanted on two warrants out of Tarrant County and White Settlement, in connection with theft and a minor misdemeanor charge.

I didn't see this tape until after 11 PM last night. I had trouble getting to sleep after viewing it. This woman is a monster. She needs to be stoned by a classroom of second graders.

Don't know who hired this attorney for her,but,just now on Today the prosecutor admitted he was only hopeful she would turn herself in as this attorney has never even talked to his client,let alone met her or observed the child's condition.

I doubt seriously if there will be any tell-tell marks on the child. Kids heal quickly. The mother was cunning enough to spirit the girl away for as long as she could get away with it.

The law and family services will decide if the child can remain with the child. There are many unanswered questions. She already has a rap sheet. There's a possibililty she's a "gypsy" that hauls her children around the country for her own nefarious purposes.

There are two other kids. Are they being schooled properly? Are they old enough to provide information on the home situation? Where is the father in all this? What is the general health of all the children?

When all these questions and more are answered, a picture will emerge. I'll bet it ain't gonna be purty.

While what this mother did to her child was inexcusable and should be punished, there's something awfully Orwellian to this entire scenario. When I saw first saw a news anchor on FNC report this story, it gave me the chills and reminded me of 1984's "Big Brother" sending their troops out on one person. The story just seemed too local to be a national situation.

In virtually every city and town of our nation, there are children who have sub human lives as a commonplace occurence. Starvation, abuse far, far worse, seriously disturbed parents, the "who's my daddy?" syndrome, rape, etc.

This is going on right now, somewhere.

So what? Where's the consistency?

Either do what you can afford to in this area via charity, or donate time, etc., and show this issues means something to a degree that you desire it to change, or don't.

If it is in your self interest to help others, do it. If it is not, and one does nothing to stop the status quo, any outrage is a pretense.

This woman is criminal trash, but I can't help wondering how many wanted murderers are walking around free while the media obsesses over this.

I've watched this tape now and I think this is being blown WAY out of proportion. When she first puts the child in the car she looks to her right, not in a calculated fashion but in as if something caught her eyey - the sudden jerk of her head back to the car tells me the child does something unexpected that startled her. I see no inidication that she looked 'left and then right' - she looked over her right shoulder and then snapped her head back as a result of something happening in the car.

As for the 'beating', she was using an open hand, she was smacking the child - there's not doubt about this - and she should not have been doing it. I would take the bets being thrown around early in this that the child does no have any bruises.

The cries by the city officials to have this child brought in and examined at the emergency room is based on the same sensationalistic and over-reacting zeitgeist that so plagues our country today.

This woman needs anger management at best and deserves a visit by CPS at worst. I have to agree - having the government step in on this situation is preposterous and is only going to serve to hurt this family more than it will help.

Well, she's wanted on at least two warrants. She flips out on a child - her child. She hides from the law knowing full well what she has done. She deserves no sympathy from anyone. And she needs lots of professional/spiritual help paid for by her and her family - not the taxpayers.

I was right! She is a grifter (gypsy con families).

Now that she has turned herself in, we learn through Fox News that she is indeed part of the grifter network in this country. The trailer park in Texas where she lives was shown and that would explain the lack of cooperation by her family or should I say the unity exhibited by her family when this story broke.
