Did you notice that the ever even-handed NYTimes described this as the anti-abortion supporters blocking the bill, when, in fact, it was the pro-aborts who stuck in the provision in the first place to target only pro-life protestors?

Equality before the law has no place in the NYTimes' world when it comes to pro-lifers. :-(

... overwhelming, bipartisan majorities in both the House and Senate support ... yeah, and the same majority supported the 'off books balancing that led to ENRON, Global Crossing, etc. rape of investors. Overwhelming support clearly doesn't mean it's a good thang ... paging Sen Gramm and his wifey.

Please consider contacting your representative and urging his opposition to this bill.

In other news, for those who still haven't received a ping from me recently, a while back I managed to kill my bump list, sending it off into the ether. If you haven’t received a bump from me for a while, and if you would like to receive bumps from me, please ping me and let me know you would like back on the list. I didn’t delete you on purpose, I just deleted the whole list by accident.

For anyone else, let me know if you want on or off the list. Click my screen name for a description.

Just a thought...I think we should start calling pro-choice, "pro-murder" instead.

House Republican leaders have insisted that they are delaying a vote only because they fear they lack the votes to pass the measure, though many in their own party dispute that notion.

I wouldn't believe a thing they say.

After all, it was Senate Republican leaders who assured us that their vote on the Schumer Amendment teeing the ball for this outrage was going to be a tie until they were forced into "splitting their consciences" and voting for the measure lest Al Gore get good press coverage from the liberal media for breaking a tie.

They passed the damn thing 80-17. Impressive "near tie".

This is just another glaring example of how positively brazen is their USE of good and true Americans like little dogs on chains who can be counted upon to bark on command.

It's deceiptful and shameful. I can't believe they still manage to get mileage out of an issue -- like abortion -- on which the leadership of both parties has been in agreement for years ... Legal Abortion having been the "VITAL" linchpin of our national population control policy since Kissinger's NSSM-200 (signed by him for Kissinger and signed by Scowcroft, as NSDM-314, for Ford).

Liars.

The anti-abortion groups say they are outraged over a provision of the bill that is intended to limit the ability of abortion protesters to use the bankruptcy laws to escape court fines imposed after demonstrations at abortion clinics.

So why is this in a credit card/bankruptcy bill?

"This provision would only serve to punish people for standing in the wrong place and speaking their minds," said Representative Joseph R. Pitts, a Pennsylvania Republican and abortion opponent who said he otherwise supports the bankruptcy bill.

Free speech in peril?
