Is it odd? You'd think it would be odd, but since the "tolerant crowd" has very little reason and very few facts on their side, and because they are defined by their emotionalism and their arrogant superiority complexes and self-denied self-loathing, all they really have to use in the war of words is name-calling to protect the noble brown-skin savage who they feel has been exploited & supressed by rich white colonials. Nevermind that, as you said, the real racists are those who want no Jews, no Christians, no white immigrants and no other religion. It's OK for them to be racist because that is their reaction to us forcing modernity and western ideals on their primitive (read: superior) cultures, and it's just a little payback we deserve.
Thanks.

I'm with Steyn. Monger me some more. I'm done with political correctness, and don't really care if someone calls me a racist. I'm not a racist - but I am a culturalist, and the culture of "The American Way" beats Islamic "culture" (misogyny, true intolerance, violence towards non-believers, etc) to a pulp.
Regarding the liberals, I quote Edmund Stoiber of Germany: "There must always be a difference between tolerance and stupidity". My tolerance quota is long ago all used up.
I wonder if this can be attributed to western Europe's post-Christian status? Having consumed their capital, devoured their seed corn, what positive alternative do the oh, so, suave euroweenies have to offer their new immigrants?
Some of you folks are funny. Steyn cites crime statistics and Tam calls him a hate-monger. Steyn writes mild criticism of Mr. Bush and you worry about his sanity.
Please make that 263!
Isn't this Ann Coulter's thesis for "Slander"?
This is in line, incidentally, with the general emotionalism of the anti-war crowd. This week, The Guardian in London accused Mr. Bush for the umpteenth time of "arrogance." So what if he is? Jacques Chirac's arrogant, so's John Ralston Saul, and Pierre Trudeau, and Bob Hope. "Humility? I pass." That was Bob, but it could just as easily have been Pierre or John or Jacques. Ol' man Yasser struck me as pretty arrogant when he was squawking away to CNN's Christiane Amanpour ("You have to be accurate when you are speaking with General Yasser Arafat! Be quiet!") and then hung up on her. But, even if he were charmingly modest and endearingly sheepish, it wouldn't change my view of him: His manner is not the issue.
"Why do immigrants rape out of all proportion to their numbers? Denmark, being a famously "tolerant," "humane" and indeed "liberated" society, is unsure. Copenhagen University's leading criminologist thinks we need more outreach. "Over the last five-10 years there has been an increasing tendency to marginalize and alienate immigrants," says Professor Flemming Balvig. "As a result, many second generation immigrants have reacted against this through various types of criminal activity, including rape." The immigrant information group IOF runs classes for Muslim fathers to help them give sexual advice to their sons. "When kids go into a kiosk to buy chewing gum, they are confronted with pornography on every shelf ... This sort of thing just doesn't exist in the societies they come from, so somebody has to talk to these youngsters and teach them how to deal with it," says Muslim leader Souhail Ibrahim. Babar Baig of the Muslim Youth League says it is the duty of all Muslims to get to the bottom of "this abnormal behaviour and moral depravity." "Abnormal"? "Moral depravity"? Hear that, Mr. Tam? The guy sounds like a National Post windbag."
Ha! Nowhere in the world is the status of women better illustrated than in Muslim countries where women are being beaten, raped and mugged. According to the Koran (and hence God) women are psychologically inferior to men; and man was the original creation. Woman was created secondarily for the pleasure and repose of man. The Koran also maligns women by attributing guile, deceit and treachery as intrinsic to a woman's nature. Not only is she unwilling to change, she is by nature incapable of changing -- she has no choice. Muhammad himself is reputed to have said: "If it had not been for Eve, no woman would have been unfaithful to her husband."
The Koran has more to say on the position of women than on any other social question. Words like "Women are your tillage," and the word for marriage is the one used for the sexual act. The primary object of marriage is the propagation of children, and partly for this a man is allowed four wives at a time and an unlimited number of concubines. The husband pays the woman a dowry at the time of marriage, and he may divorce his wife at any time, but he can't take her back until she has remarried and been divorced by a second husband. Only after three divorces can a Muslim man not take back his wife. However, he can say, "I divorce thee" three times but, a woman can't sue for divorce on any grounds, and her husband may beat her.
"But if he who oweth the debt is of low understanding, or weak or unable himself to dictate, then let the guardian of his interests dictate in (terms of) equity. And call to witness, from among your men, two witnesses. And if two men be not (at hand) then a man and two women, of such as ye approve as witnesses, so that if the one erreth (through forgetfulness) the other will remember." (Koran 2.282)
In the above verse, the testimony of two women is worth that of one man. In Islam the rule is not to accept the testimony of women alone in matters to which men theoretically have access.
Not only the word rape is missing from the Arabic language, but also the rapists are protected. For a woman to prove she has been raped, four Muslim adult males of good repute must be present to testify that sexual penetration has taken place. Furthermore, in keeping with good Islamic practice, these laws value the testimony of men over women. The combined effect of these laws is that it is impossible for a woman to bring a successful charge of rape against a man; instead, she herself, the victim, finds herself charged with illicit sexual intercourse, adultery or fornication, while the rapist goes free. If the rape results in a pregnancy, this is automatically taken as an admission that adultery or fornication has taken place with the woman's consent rather than that rape has occurred.
