No Apologies necessary IMO!
Truth has to be spoken and questions have to be asked or we cannot call this a free society.

A frazzled Sen. Daschle barely allows his words to escape without breaking into a tearful rage: "The president should apologize."
Daschle, of course, is playing to the emotions of the gallery. He does not so much have reason to be upset personally as that he feels the voters really ought to be angry at George W. Bush.

I think it is all related to "diversity is our strength" and living in a "racist-free multicultural society". It boils down to the Orwellian society we now find ourselves living in.

It's sickening because demands for unwarranted apologies are a product of political correctness to foist unearned guilt on the perpetrator's target. Expose the parasites.

Why can't people disagree?Because someone might get angry.
Anger leads to confrontation, violence,
and even, god forbid, change.
This is why you won't see bodies falling
from towers on TV remembrance ceremonies,
why mourning and weeping are the order
of the day rather than outrage. Anger,
we think, is uncontrollable, cannot
be directed solely onto those deserving
it. Once we get mad at the violent
activity of others, the next step is
to see it in protected classes and
demand changes. That strikes at
the very root of the victim society,
the belief that someone else is
responsible for the criminality
of the aggrieved.
And that's why disagreement
is no longer tolerated.

Nothing should be clearer, post-9/11, than that the culture of super-sensitivity has almost done us in. I am really sorry for highlighting this statement.

Somewhere in the early stages of most of my conversations lately, I find myself saying, "Are you SURE you want my opinion on that?? - Because... you may NOT LIKE IT!"
Thus, I feel I'm offering the other person the opportunity to NOT be offended by my ensuing remarks, should his/her skin be ultra-thin. If they dare go on with the discussion, I make it crystal clear what I think about their ridiculous point of view!
