World Bank-IMF Protest - The Poison and the Antidote

When describing the methodology of socialism, early 19th century French jurist Fredric Bastiat wrote of "the poison and the antidote created in the same laboratory." Bastiat theorized that the rabble-rousers of his day, whom he described as the poison, were working hand in glove with the elitist socialists, whom he described as the antidote. The 19th century socialists, while quietly instigating the rabble-rousers, would then offer their services as a remedy to a terrorized population.

The predominantly white middle class protesters presently performing their theatre art outside of the World Bank-IMF in Washington D.C. are today's poison while the proposed antidote will likely be a World Bank-IMF engorged with more American taxpayer largess and a more penetrating grip on the economies of the world. It should be noted that the protestors are not calling for an end to the tax subsidized World Bank and IMF or for a reduction in its influence but rather for its expansion into areas such as "human rights" and the environment.

The protestors are chanting for a cancellation of the "third world debt." If this were to occur, American taxpayers would be stuck paying private banks the difference plus interest for third world loans that had been "forgiven." The money itself would end up permanently in the pockets of oppressive third world socialist dictators. Private investment in the third world would be a great idea if there were signs of private property ownership and elected representative government. The accompanying stability would serve to reduce the likelihood that an investment might be "nationalized." Instead, by allowing banks to loan money to socialist dictators virtually risk free, the World Bank and the IMF perpetuate socialist tyrannies and subsidize poverty and hunger.

The core protesters in D.C. were trained in their agitation techniques by the Ruckus Society, which, since 1995 has trained over 2,000 people. Ruckus Society founder Mike Roselle, former coordinator for Greenpeace and a founder of Earth First, achieved notoriety by scaling Mount Rushmore and attaching a gas mask to George Washington's visage in protest of acid rain. It should be noted that the poison, the Ruckus Society, Greenpeace, Earth First et al, are heavily funded by the antidote, select foundations who are likely to support the IMF, World Bank, and other globalist entities.

The IMF and World Bank were founded during World War II, in the summer of 1944 at Bretton Woods, New Hampshire by British Fabian socialist economist John Maynard Keynes and American assistant Secretary of the Treasury and accused Soviet spy Harry Dexter White. Keynes sought to eventually abolish the gold standard and replace it with a fiat currency backed by the ability of the industrialized world to extract taxes from its citizens.

Harry Dexter White, serving in the FDR administration during the war years, resided over the illicit transfer of American currency to Stalin. White held up promised gold shipments to Chaing Kai Shek thus causing a devastating inflation in post war China which helped the communist forces of Mao. White's assistant Frank Coe, also an accused communist spy who moved to Communist China in the 1950's rather than testifying before Congress, would become the first secretary of the IMF.

The protesters, with their theatrics and media savvy, seek to empower Harry Dexter White's World Bank and IMF because they, like White, believe in world socialism. The protestors outside, like the bankers meeting inside, want the World Bank and the IMF to expand its already colossal power into areas of human rights, which is a euphemism for abortion, the environment, which means public control of property, and economic control of the third world which is meant to impede development in these poor benighted countries. Ultimately, the protestors, the poison, and the bankers, the antidote, seek to transfer the sovereignty of nations into their own hands by turning the developed world into a cash cow and the third world into an enslaved permanent dependency.
