You have not seen bizarre unless you saw the boxing/wrestling doubleheader where Andre the Giant matched up against Chuck Wepner "The Bayonne Bleeder". Mohammad Ali then tangled with a japanese wrestler in Tokyo.

Chuck Barris would have been proud...

Kinda hard to beat that Terry Gordy Vs The Missing Link feud down there in Dallas. I found an old tape of that a few months back.

Andre was terrific in "The Princess Bride". He had some of the funniest lines in the movie.

More about Andre

I went to a match where Andre headlined in the 70's. He was taller than 6'10 back then. He shrunk considerably over time.

I never had the chance to see much NWA/WCW when Flair was in his prime. From what I saw, he was talented, but he never struck me as being credible as a tough guy. Hogan and Andre were big guys, Austin was a psycho. Why would I fear a guy like Flair?

To be fair, I have been checking Ebay lately for soem Flair comp tapes because I'm curious to see what all the fuss is/was about.

I had met Terry Gordy before, sat behind him and Michael Hayes at a Journey concert (dont tell anyone I was at a Journey concert)...The Missing Link rings a bell, but I cant place a face with the name....I was on a similar thread here at F/R not too long ago, I hadnt thought of The Von Erichs in quite some time....Kevin Von Erich is the only one left....several deaths and suicides in that family...pretty tragic.

What do you think of Ric Flair? I always thought he was an overratted loser.

Sheesh and you think Hogan was a great wrestler. Here's every Hogan match: Pose, Hand To Ear, Lock Up, Back Shot Back Shot, Opponent Leaves Ring, Hand To Ear, Eye Gouge, Hogan Down, Comeback, Shake For Crowd, Punch to Head, Repeat, Leg Drop, Match Over, Talk To Mean Gene.

Flair kept heat going for 3 decades. Flair was generating major heat when Hogan was still playing in a band. And Flair could literally work for 60 minutes.

I dunno, Dave Meltzer of the "Wrestling Observer" says Andre never topped 6-10. I've always regarded Meltzer as the gold standard for this kind of information

The Link was brought in by Skandar Ackbar and ended up in a bloody feud with Gordy. The Link was bald with a band of hair in the back that he used to ram his head into people. A Mark Lewin type persona. He left the business to become a cop.

Meltzer could never keep kafaybe. Andre padded the boots to appear taller.
