'Mornin! Well almost afternoon. I'm pleased it's downgraded too :-)

I've been keeping those in the storm's path in my thoughts and prayers, and I know many folks are doing the same. So they are well looked after :-)

Hope you are ok, it was nice chatting with you through the wee hours with the cane a blowin. Report in when you are able. I assume you lost power.

Wish I didn't feel so much in my bones and spirit that you are right about Isador and Lili. Some prophetic voices are saying Lili has to do with--is it Lilith or some such in the Bible--not the good word but the demonic related one.

A number of prophetic voices have seen a volcano of demonic hords being released upon the world and in the midst of the U.S. if the U.S. does Iraq wrongly? out of timing? with lack of humility? . . . some say if we do it at all . . . such that rebellion and lawlessness and destruction by hords of rebellious demon driven people--including but far from limited to terrorist cells--would rampage around routinely.

Chuch Pierce felt some relief that Bush signed the Bill that included the bits about Jerusalem having to be the capital per our Embassy etc. I don't think Tim Snodgrass has spoken yet on the topic. I think Bush's insistance that he won't abide by those provisions of the law are telling . . . sadly. We shall see how God apportions it all out.

Perhaps you're right. God probably would prefer that the US leave Saddam alone so that Saddam can continue to exterminate Kurds. God would surely side with tyrannts like Saddam that kill people because they don't follow their sect of islam. God would definately support Iraq over Israel.

God would want Iraq to continue their production of WMD. And God would surely be proud of Iraq for using its monies towards WMD and elaborate palaces INSTEAD of medicines and foods for the civilians.

God would surely side with a nation dtermined to destroy Israel, be it through scud missiles or support of terrorists.

It's all perfectly clear now.

NOT!!!

YOU SEEM TO ENJOY PUTTING WORDS IN MY FINGERS.

NOT AT ALL WHAT YOU SATIRICALLY SUGGESTED.

It's complex and who am I to dare figure out the mind of God in all this.

But I have some guesses. Iraq seems to have some real heavy duty demonic forces connected with it through the ages--and certainly driving Saddam. Certainly God is set against Saddam and his tyranny; his hostility to Israel and his hostility and evil violence to his own peoples not to mention the region and the world.

There's even the possibility that God is determined to USE THE U.S. to deal somewhat with Iraq forcefully--AND USE OUR INVOLVING OUR ARROGANCE IN HOW WE GO ABOUT THAT to also teach us some humility and a return to dependence on and loyalty to The Only Almighty God. God is certainly big enough to do multiple things with one situation.

It is quite reasonable to me that our agreeing to the silliness of setting up a Palistinian state at the jugular of Israel's throat will be a key to how much God disciplines us in the coming hostilities . . . as well as the timing of said hostilities and how much grace we have to prepare our hearts, lives and country for the hostilities and the evidently dreadful things to follow.

We are seriously hypocritical with Israel--not a wise thing to do before Almighty God regarding HIS thanks to Abraham for Abraham's friendship with God. We expect and demand the right to pursue and obliterate all terrorism wherever we find it and whatever state we find it in--though I doubt we'll try it with China or Russia or even Cuba or Indonesia for that matter. But we expect Israel to bend over and enjoy it no matter how often or how brutally Arafart scr*ws them over. That double standard is not likely pleasing to God.

God is certainly big enough to do multiple things with one situation.

And God is certainly capable of having things happen just they way He wants them to regardless of what anyone may try to do to thwart God's plans.

Since Israel is also in violation of certain UN resolutions, it is quite possible that what you percieve as 'bending over', is merely an attempt to get Israel to refrain, ONLY because the more the Pali's murder, the worse they look. And will help to bring others to Israel's aid when the time comes. Now, when is that time? When we are finally ready to deal with the Pali's once and for all.

They want a nation. Fine. But, they want Jerusalem, too. Guess what, they won't get it, and the bill signed by Bush helps to make certain of that!

Even if the Pali's had their own nation, does anyone seriously believe that they will cease their attacks on Israel? Highly unlikely. So, then what? Right back to square one, and this has to be anticipated before even giving them their nation. No one likes the idea of actually wiping another group of people off the face of the earth, but it just may come to that, because the Pali's aren't going to be appeased by ANY settlement.

The war on terror only makes the issue more tricky. The arabs are already trying to make the world think that the US is arabphobic, to deal with the Pali's appropriately would only enforce this notion. We have to act carefully. The Israel/Pali conflict may have to wait until all the other areas you mentioned are sorted out.

Unlike you, seeing the glass as half empty, I see it as half full, and I DO think that we will go into the very areas that you mentioned. BUT, we will go in because we were asked, not because we had to storm our way in. Russia has its problems, and I think Putin will ask for our assistance in ridding Russia of their vermin. And I think other countries will follow suit. And yeah, even China may decide they want help. But even if they don't want our help, they may at least want to know that we would support them verbally if they chose to go after their own vermon on their own.

Diplomacy and tact takes TIME and isn't achieved overnight.

Bush is certainly more God fearing than his predecessor, so I won't slam him in this area like you.

One more thing. If the US is such a big bad bogey man, why is the US always helping other nations during times of crisis, like earthquakes, famines, floods, hurricanes etc. What other nation so readily helps ANYONE that asks?

We give foreign aid to many, many nations, quite a few that I personally would tell to go suck an egg. But, no we try to help them anyway, even when they clearly show themselves to be anti-American. What other nation is so giving that way? To our detriment I fear, but no we are not the big bad bogey man you and others of your ilk would like to portray us as.

So, tell me, what other nation does MORE? I can hardly wait to see what country you name.

Is he still missing? I'm just reading my comments so haven't seen the thread today. Where are you Uncle Sham?? Boy I was tired today. I can't believe I stayed up so late! My brother in Zachary is fine, he said they were in a sort of dry spot and lots of the storm went around them. They are very relieved. I haven't checked the news today because I've been so busy, so this is the first I heard as a poster said that Lafayette got the worst of it. That was fun last night. Uncle Sham was very funny and entertaining and we were lucky to have him as our own personal reporter on the scene! I bet his electricity will be off for a couple of days. He sounds like such a character!

Oh boy. Pat O'Brains. Seeing the picture of that drink brings back some embarrassing memories.

One night some years ago, I was in New Orleans with friends and we went to Pat O'Brians. While having one after another of those tasty drinks with a fairly robust alcohol content, we were sitting there having a blast. Suddenly, I stood up and excused myself as I raced towards the ladies room and threw up. I felt bad the next day too.

I haven't seen or heard anything from Uncle Sham. Hope all is ok, and suspect that he is without power and may be without for a couple of days.

Not sure where the worst was but the highest winds recorded were in New Iberia, where Uncle Sham is located. I'm guessing they may have been hit hardest, with Lafayette being a close second. They've shown destruction from New Iberia on FNC and TWC. Looked pretty bad. Darned good thing that Lili started falling apart when it did.

I'm OK. The family is OK. The dogs and cats are OK. My front door is NOT OK. I still have all of my own trash cans. The storm blew the roof of one of the dormer sections at my grandfather's house which the Sham's are currently restoring. Today was a reconstruct session of this old house. Tomorrow will be a continuance of that episode. Earlier this morning, I stopped where a reporter from Fox News was broadcasting a live feed and made sure to tell him to have ice delivered to our area. Our electricity was finally restored about 6:00PM this evening. New Iberia was hit very hard but the worst damages were in Delcambre about ten miles west of here. For those who were concerned that their Tobasco supply line would dry up, there is no need to worry. It is still there. I'll get back with more on the spot stuff when our high speed internet is working. Thanks to all of you who helped make a horrible night almost enjoyable. Friends are neat a'rent they! :-)
