Summary: A father who was grieving over his girlfriends abortion of their baby boy, stood in front of the Planned Parenthood clinic in Overland Park, Kansas and killed himself on September 10.
Brad Draper, 44, shot himself in the head in front of the Overland Park, Kansas Planned Parenthood clinic on September 10. He died later in the hospital. Draper was grieving the killing of his unborn baby son by his girlfriend at the clinic.
Draper published an obituary for his boy in the local newspaper in June, 2002. In his obituary, he said: Zachary Duncan Draper was beautiful as his mother, loved by God and others. My little baby boy didnt make it to his Daddys arms. I never got to hold and kiss him, tell him stories or read him rhymes. I love you Zachary and look forward to seeing you in heaven.
According to the family, Draper had seen ultrasounds of his son and was very excited to be a father until his girlfriend had the abortion without telling him. Family members say he killed himself on what would have been his sons due date.

I know this happened over a month ago but this was just written today, so am taking the off chance it wasn't posted. I know I never saw it. Even if it was, I think it deserves a 2nd look.

My screenname notwithstanding, suicide is really, really, really, unquestionably dumb.

Is there any sort of cross reference to the obituary or the father's suicide in the secular press?

This was the entire article. I don't know what the Kansas papers may have carried, if anything. Perhaps a Kansan could tell us.

Too bad fathers don't have any say in "choice"

In the current culture of sanctioned serial killing by/in abortuaries, the unborn are non-human to the democrat party hierarchy (heirarchy), thus they feel content to remove the parasitic invaders from the woman's body if SHE (and only she) so 'chooses'. There is no room for the father's involvement, and especially no right to life or privacy for the child about to be murdered. This is the legacy of a democrat party that diverted from sanity two and half decades ago. Now, the democrat party draws its empowerment from protecting serial killing of the unborn, the most innocent and vulnerable of our individual human brethren. What a thing! That the democrat party proudly touts 'a woman's right to choose' a serial killer to off an innocent unborn! Where/when will the American people awaken to stop this demonic obscenity?

"I love you Zachary and look forward to seeing you in heaven."People who shoot themselves in the head (ala Judas Iscariot) usually have a hard time convincing God to let them into Heaven.

This is so sad.
On this, my Josiah's birthday, when I have been re-living and thanking God for Josiah's gestation and birth seven years ago today one of the very happiest days in my life, one of the very best things EVER to happen to me, one of God's VERY best gifts to me this tugs hard at my heart.
I think two things, though:
I'm sure some would say this very harshly. I say it too, but I hope not harshly: this man should have thought before he begot. He should not have fathered without having husbanded. In other words, get married first; then think about kids.
However, having said that...
The sad part is that legally it wouldn't have mattered. Morally, yes; legally, no. His wife could still have gone off and had his child killed.
That's the sort of thing you want to know about a woman BEFORE you marry her.

So sad.

You kinda touch on an important point.
If abortion is homicide, (it is, by the way) then isn't the father an accessory before the fact?
To: I still care
My sadness for the father and his little boy is overwhelming. My anger at the woman is indescribable, but my anger toward those that continue to see this as right is even greater.
This father's grief is evidence that it is not right at all.

It is the last resort to those who have lost all hope. It is much more tragic than dumb.
