I think cases like this are what Grand Juries were made for. They have full investigative powers, and if local law enforcement bureaucrats won't act, a Grand Jury subpeona is just the thing to shake them out of their stupor.

I guess the only downside for us is that their deliberations are also secret--so we wouldn't see results for some time.

But Chief and his wonderful bride deserve resolution and justice (yes, I believe he was murdered).

*Chief, I still miss you--your loss left a big hole personally, but there is now a gap in the leadership of the crusade to put a permanent end to the income tax and the IRS.

Peace pipe, brother. We'll all be seeing you soon.

Thank you very much for the ping. I still grieve for our friend, and would have been disappointed greatly to have missed this thread.

EV, I'll admit to being dumber than a stump about how something like this makes it to the Grand Jury.
I know they have huge investigative powers.
I don't care whether we KNOW or not until they are through, as long as someone is trying to find out.
I just don't want it to get lost in the file system.

We need a GOOD attorney in Houston who knows the system and the local politics.

As strong as the support was and is in the Houston area for the FairTax, there has to be someone who knew Chief, and who will do what it takes (with as much aid as all of us can give him or her) to get this in front of the Grand Jury.

Me either.

Some justice just shouldn't wait til Judgement Day.

Been busy all day with the girls, so I'm just going through my mail now.

Is it far off to think that maybe a Houston attorney or two are members here? Or maybe just someone who might have a connection or two in the right places in Houston, that would feel compassion for an injustice like this, and offer you some FRee-per advice?

With a great pool of people here, who certainly know great people (who haven't joined us yet-lol!), I mean...how many degrees can we be off from finding just the right person to get some answers?

And did I read it right? COB...is tomorrow your *birthday?*

LOL!
Yeah, I hate to admit it, but I am a year older tomorrow!
I don't think they make cakes big enough to hold that many candles!

You know, we have talked about attorneys in the past, and there are some Houston attorneys on the forum.
The problem is that this is going to be a big case, and require a lot of time and manpower.
It's like the time when we put out feelers for the P.I. - we had some offers, but they wanted money up front with no guarantees of results.
JimRob understandably doesn't want us soliciting funds on the forum to pay anyone

Aren't there some heavy hitter contacts in Houston who might have enough knowledge and pull to get the Chief's case in front of the Grand Jury?---people who knew him or of him, and appreciate his contribution to cleaning up this mess we call a tax system?

Just wondering.

Regards,

EV

COB,

This may sound off the wall, but, how about contacting Wayne Dolsefina the local TV investigative reporter. He likes to roll in the dirt and expose city corruption, perhaps this would be right up his alley?? Does anyone here have any personal contact with him?

Also ... Happy birthday to you, happy birthday to you, happy birthday Cobby, happy birthday to you. Wishing you many, many years to torment us. hehehe

The idea of Wayne Delshefino (sp?) is a darn good one!
I never even thought of him!
We talked about Marvin Zindler, but he's too busy with the "slime in the ice machines".
Let me work on that!

Thank you for that birthday song.
You have a beautiful voice!!
I HOPE I'm around for a few more years to "torment" you!
LOL!
