First off, it would be specious to deny the fact that influential Jewish conservatives are influencing the Administration as it considers strategies and tactics in this war against Islamic fascism.

For them not to try to speak up and influence policy could be considered criminal negligence on the part of the Jewish community. However, where Dowd is altogether wrong is to fail to point out that the Jewish pro-war lobby exists within a much larger universe of pro-war conservatives.

Be Seeing You,

But I thought it were the Jewish liberals in media trying to influence blah blah blah.

Jewish pro-war lobby exists within a much larger universe of pro-war conservatives.

And a universe of pro-war moderates and liberals. The NY Times when on a road trip last week down I-80 trying to find Americans to speak out against the war. By and large, the found unanimity on the issue that "something has to be done" about Saddam.

This included persons willing to admit that 1) the economy is tanking and should be addressed by the Prezz; 2) pre-emption sets a bad precedent and is bad for US image & values; 3) the war is politically timed; 4) previous American foreign policy contributed to the problem; 5) W is not very smart and has not articulated the case for war to their satisfaction, etc, etc, etc.

The Times concluded that the 9/11 attacks changed American thinking on the Middle East, making American safe from terrorists the issue.

Well duhh!

Having read your previous post, I am very surprised by this one.

You are totally wrong.

The Jewish communiy would never approve actions by a Jew acting in official capacity that are contrary to his duties. Any Jew in the government, as well as Gentile, is supposed to promote, to full extent of his capacity, the interest of the United States.

What you have said, whether deliberately or inadvertently, is a libel that anti-Semites like Dows promulgate.

You should take your words back, because they have defamed a large number of people.
