And the thing that is so sad is that they think this is a GOOD thing.

Didn't this appeal go to David Souter? I think he is the "justice" with jurisdiction over the Northeast districts.

Way to go, SCOTUS. Thanks for nullifying the primary process and spitting on the right to vote for military personnel, etal.

New Jersey FREEPers, you now know what it will take for a Republican in your ranks: an all out effort to defeat millionaire Frank Lousyberg and the Dash-hole idiots. And while you're at it, try impeaching any or all of those jackals on your Supreme Court, too.

The Liberals have won.

The Rule Of Law no longer exists. Law is merely what they say it is or they can get away with!

It might be for the best. My biggest worry was that Democrats' screams for "fairness" would trip up elections in other states and through the House and Senate to the Dems. That said, I think following the law has to be an important principle, and I've earlier posted several arguments against the Lautenberg swap.

Whew. I just cannot believe it, even though I knew it was coming. The law just isn't the law anymore.

Well, now the issue should be how the Demos denied the military their right to vote.

No surprise, the du rats are celebrating another rat victory against constitutional law..

You'd at least think they'd have enough shame to not celebrate this. This is a national disgrace.

This may be a blessing in disguise. Lautenberg is going to prove to be a lousy candidate. His own words and record can now be used against him, i.e., that Fenwick was too old when he ran against her (she was six years younger than he is now);his reneging on the 21 debates, the fact that he decided not to run again because he was fed up, etc., etc., etc.

This is a very sad turn of events but I really didn't expect the SCOTUS to take this case. I feel sick.

EVERYBODY WINS!! This is a victory for State's Rights, you know. As pathetic as NJ is, they ought to be able to decide their own mess in their own state. You can impeach the NJSC, or you can vote non-Whitman's in to appoint non-liberals. Welcome to the creaky wheels of democracy.

What distressing news. Guess we now can add a new dimension to elections - run until you find you cannot win and pull in a better hitter.

If this is ok - I hope the GOP also uses this tactic.

Democrats: the party of lies, half-truths, and the bait and switch. They literally nauseate me. And in this "ruling", so does SCOTUS. No wonder I'm a
