Geez - per Davis, someone at Enron should go to jail. And he's stuttering.
Davis sounds awful on his energy answer. Absolutely awful.
Simon: "Let's talk about the real problem. He told the Sac Bee that he panicked ..."
Simon: "The paid leave bill ... is a tax ... the way to do it is not to levy a tax ..." Davis says it's paid by "contributions" (just like Social InSecurity).
To: NormsRevenge
Simon would have seen this coming and contacted the Bush admin to collaborate on addressing issues.

I have to give the LA Times credit, however grudgingly, for staging a very well moderated debate. The rules were actually enforced and not too many purely rhetorical questions got lobbed. Davis persisted in bringing up the abortion issue, one that is not even in the top 6 identified concerns of California voters and that the Governor has no power over. Also continued to slam Simon for being "against 'sensible' gun control" even though Simon repeatedly stressed that he is committed to enforcing existing gun law.
To: NormsRevenge
What's your take, overall?
To: NormsRevenge
Davis is using too many family quotes...my mom...my dad...sounds like Al Gore.

This was the best I could do in getting down the closing statements:
"I'm running for governor because we can do better ... a lot better. ... where we empower our teachers and parents with real accountability which is mandatory ... and I see a California where there are not a million Californians out of work ... and I want to end the endless taxes, fees and regulations that come out of Sacramento ... with me, you'll get a father, a husband, a successful businessman, a federal prosecutor ... I'll be honored to earn your vote
My tahnks to the LA tims ... stark differences ... strongly pro choice ... i believe in sensible gun control ... proud to sign the first paid leave bill ... proud to have signed the first bill allowing full research with stem cells ... please that I've signed the first bill in ameerica to clean up greenhouse gases. I want to move us forward Mr Simon wants to move us backward. With all humility I ask for your vote ... will move the state even further.
