Issue: 74 - Tuesday, October 08, 2002
Please join the Brady Campaign and Alliance for Justice sponsor the star studded DC premier of Michael Moore's new internationally acclaimed movie:
Bowling for Columbine
>From the director of "Rodger and Me," comes an alternately humorous and horrifying documentary about firearms abuse in the United States. During a time when gun violence has shaken our community and threatened the security of our neighborhoods this documentary begins to address the question, why do we live in a culture of violence? From a look at the Columbine High School security tapes to an interview at the home of NRA President Charlton Heston we will get a view of the American fascination with guns, and begin to examine why we have 11,000 gun homicides a year and Canada has only 190.
We hope you can join us for this very special screening! After the movie, moviegoers will have the unique privilege of participating in a question and answer session with Michael Moore.
When: Tuesday, October 15th at 8 PM Where: Cineplex Odeon Cinema, 5100 Wisconsin Avenue Cost: Tickets are $25 per person and all proceeds will go directly to the Brady Campaigns efforts to combat gun violence and enact sensible gun laws.

From the director of "Rodger and Me,"
LOL! The fat idiots one success in life, and they spell it wrong.
The affable Eva Braun, aka Katie Couric, was interviewing Moore on the Today show. The interview was a bonafide love-fest. No hard questions. No dissenting opinion at all.
I particularly disliked the part where she was careful to mention that Michael Moore was once a member of the NRA and had (gasp) fired a gun.
I also wondered about Moore saying that Mr. Heston walked out of an interview with him. Heston is a politican...I don't doubt that he has a temper, but can't imagine that happening.
Also, about Moore saying that Chuck left during an interview. Maybe Moore was not conducting an interview but an interrogation. Let us see the whole thing.

Columbine wasn't about gun abuse. It was about a couple evil arrogant little bastards who were allowed to push the limits until they decided to kill people. Had they got the shit slapped out of them early on, there would never have been a Columbine.
From a tubby schlub of a man comes a thin jeremiad about how horrible inanimate objects are, and how just one more law can prevent all crime in this country. Flush with success from his recent book Stupid White Men, author and pinup boy for the homeless, Michael "No" Moore, has taken the logical leap from scrivener to filmmaker. Altogether talentless as a writer, Moore demonstrates that his dearth of ability extends far beyond the printed page, and that his incompetence transcends his medium.
It didn't stop him from moving on though. Even the left agrees that this is propaganda; some are appauding though because they still agree with the sentiments if not the facts or presentation.
I don't know when Mr. Heston would have walked away from such an interview. Mr. Moron says that he bought a map to the stars homes and went up to Mr. Heston's house to try to film an interview. He was told to come back tomorrow, Mr. Moron did and was welcomed into Mr. Heston's home. If there was any part of the interview that he did not consent to, he should have said, "Need I remind you that you are a guest in my house?".
