The American Dream is in danger of becoming a patriot's nightmare. Ronald Reagan's Shining City on the Hill is being dragged down into a socialist's swamp. Democrats acting alone spawned this debacle in progress. Republican capitulations to the demands of Democrats have been responsible for the perpetuation of this atrocity. Now is the time to put an end to this lunacy before it becomes a complete catastrophe. No one but fools or liars will deny these self-evident truths.

We have a choice to make in every election. We the people of the United States have fewer than five elections in which we can choose to save the legacy given to us by the Founding Fathers. I am going to cast the four votes that I have left within the time frame while it is still possible to make a difference for the Reagan Renaissance. Blindly voting Republican as the lesser of two tyrannies preserves the serfdom of our citizens and maintains the downward spiral of the Social Security sewer until bankruptcy blessedly ends our suffering and slavery.

I hope every Freeper will think carefully before they choose.

A woman who had escaped from the Ukraine speaking at one of our conservative Republican functions in the early 70s said something that I have never forgotten.

I escaped and came to America, I had your country to run to. The same thing that happened to the Ukraine is happening here and you people have no place to run, you had better wake up and fight it with all your might.

The Republicans may be stupid and greedy, but the Democrats are evil.

It's not hard to understand the partisanship on this site.

The problem with folks like you is that if one doesn't agree with your view 100% than they are fools or statist or lessors than you PURE conservatives (by YOUR definition)...it is the OVER the top generalizations that show you to be unable to see the forrest for the trees that YOU planted...NOT all republicans are empty suits, but folks like you usually roll out the "deeply thoughtfull" there-is-no-difference-between-republicans-and-democrats childish rant....If what has just happened in New Jersey, if three democrats in Bagdad, if denied and delayed judicial appointments in the Senate, if having ONE view of war with Saddam when a democrat is president, then making a 180 degree change when a republican is president, if missile technology to RED CHINA for campaign funds is NOT enough to convince you that republicans ARE different, then you will never be happy...stay with your small phone booth convention soul mates and continue to turn your arrogant noses when a republican passes by....There are too many moderates in the republican party...there are NOT nearly enough true conservative in the GOP, but it is GOOFY to say that they are ALL empty suits...besides they are the ONLY party that has a chance of holding a majority in both houses, and are far better than criminal law breaking democrats.

Sorry, but my vote is NOT for sale. I will vote straight Republican without hesitation. Oh, and not blindly, I might add. To me, this is a total no-brainer - especially after what I have seen of the Democrats in the past month. It has only solidified my stance.

I can't argue with what you said. At this point, there is but one solution; hijack the Pubbies so that the we can take the fork, and hope that we can make that turn before the country tumbles down the cliff.

We MAY or MAY NOT survive this election with merely throwing the RATs out and replacing them with Republicans of any stripe just to be rid of the RATs. I do know that, if conservatives don't start winning in droves by 2004 as opposed to the "moderate-to-lieberals" that currently run the party (especially the Senate), we will not avoid that cliff. Given that it takes 6 years for a new party to arise from the ashes of an old party (see the transition from the Federalists to the Whigs, and from the Whigs to the Pubbies), and that we can't survive even 2 nore years of RAT rule (your scenario assumes that the RATs aren't in unchallenged power at all between now and 2016), it is imperative that we take over the Pubbies between now and 2004, make the acronym RINO as applied to such "luminaries" as Trent Lott and Olympia Snowe truthful, and win election after election (starting with the intermediate goal of throwing El Diablo D'Asshole Hussein out of the majority leader's office and keeping Little Dick Gimphardt out of the Speaker's chair this year) with enough of a majority that we can turn the country away from the cliff.

As for me personally, I can't directly influence the overthrow of El Diablo (no Senate races in Wisconsin), but I will be helping with the House (we got rid of a RAT seat in redistricting, and I'll have a conservative Republican instead of a RAT as a Representative come 2003). I'll also be doing my part to keep our "boy governor" (called so because he's politically "tone-deaf", not because he isn't conservative between the "tin ears") Scott McCallum in office against a lying, scheming RAT (example of Jim Doyle (boil, toil and trouble); "I won't raise taxes...", but "...I'll review the sales tax exemptions..." and "I'll lift the school spending caps.")

I agree with you. However, I think that the real problem here lies in the RINOs who pretend to be Republican in order to get the vote if they campaign from a GOP district.

The reson I vote GOP(Although sometimes I vite LIbertarian.) is this... most people in the US are centrists. They are neither left nor right. I believe most would be Conservative if they fully understood the ramifications of thier choices but to most people politics is a two day study in ideas the DAYS before they vote.

After reading the platform of the Republican LIberty Caucas, I have come to the conclusion that it is easier working within the GOP to attempt to change IT rather then fighting against it.

It upsets me that many people in the GOP are moderates but that is the way it is and the way it shall remain for a long time. While President BUsh has shown some spirit on certain issues, he has capitulated in others. The reasons for this are it is easier to try to change things when one is in office rather then when one is outside of the power structure.

It comes down to Realpolitik, and the reason some are getting angry with you is that if we followed your vision, we would be a fringe party unable to do ANYTHING. As I have said, I work inside the GOP to bring it more to the right and if people like me succeed, it will bring the country farher to the right.

I might add, the political capital is not present to demand the changes that you wish. We must do it by incrementalism. This is the same strategy that the left has used with the DNC and on the American public, and it works. The country would NEVER go for thier looney lefty ideas so they have waged war using incrementalism hoping that it will be too late once the Country wakes up and realizes what is happening.

IN summary, I share your ideals but I am a realist and will fight for every last inch. Who would have EVER thought ten years ago that a President would campaign as a Conservative and win? Albeit, as a Compassionate Conservative but a Conservative nevertheless.

The reason we are practicing Realpolitik now is that the November elections are a HAIRSBREADTH apart and we must not lose. If we Conservatives all abandon the GOP, what will we gain? The Libertarians and the COnstitutionalists will gain more members but will still be fringe groups and the DNC will have acheived an absoulute stranglehold over our government.

I am hoping you are just a frustrated idealist and will see my point, because as I have said, I share your views but strategically you are advocating your own extinction and giving the GOP free reign to become EXACTLY what you predict. IN other words, your actions(If taken en masse.) would produce a self-fulfilling prophecy.

I've said this before, but it bears repeating. The time to steer your party is not election time. By then it is too late, and you are forced to vote RINO, assuming you still believe your vote counts. The reason why RINOs, like liberals, seem to always be calling the shots is simply because they are more politically active. Those of us in caucus states have no excuse for being politically apathetic. Those in primary states will have a harder time breaking into the machine, but you have to get in and put your issues and candidates into the party platform before the primaries. Political activism/participation is something that has to happen year around. When you get mail from the party, take them up on their offer and go to the meetings and run for office. There you will be able to steer things and come election time you will not be forced to vote for the RINO to spite the socialist. Also, you have to remember that there has never been a successful 3rd party in this country. New parties are always spawned from existing parties, so save yourself some trouble fighting history and work the existing party.
