This can not be true. If there were a picture it would be all over the news and someone would immediately identify the shooter. Anything less would be irresponsible action by the police.

I'm thinking it might not be a very good picture. Might even be poor quality.

The police may not be entirely convinced that the pic they have is of the killer. Release of false info can be disastrous in these situations.

Unless showing it might not make the libs too happy. The media dreaded "T" word (terrorism) many come into play. They can't afford to lose anymore support this close to an election.

... unless the picture shows mid-eastern men. The police have tremendous pressure for this to be a "White Supremacist Militiaman." The picture has to fit the "story" they will release when they kill this sniper.

There's a lot in this that appears similar to disinformation tactics. What comes immediately to the eye is the ability to note "a small dent in the rear bumper" but not to be able to describe the writing on the side of the truck -- or even what color it is (black or purple).

This is odd information to put out in this way. If there is a composite or photo of the perp, one would think there would be wider distribution of it in this environment -- to get neighbors, or people this man has met to identify him.

Some things certainly don't appear to add up in this.

I don't think it is irresponsible on the police's part to NOT release the picture. Why let the guy know they are on to him? He might try to run for it and they'd lose everything. I for one do not believe they need to tell us everything they're doing to catch this killer because I'm sure he watches TV too! I'd rather he stayed fat, dumb, and happy until they come knocking on his door! They won't do that until they think they have enough to indict him, and they won't want to do anything that will allow this guy to get off on any technicalities
