In particular, is she pro-abortion?

She describes herself as "reluctantly pro-choice." This is a significant mark against her, in my book, but I suspect the reason she takes such a stand is that she has never had to address the issue head-on. I think her Christian faith would lead her to the proper conclusion if she ever had to deal with the issue. I think I'd withold judgement on the issue until she gave a better acconting of the grounds for her reluctance, and elaborated on what she considers to be the limits of abortion rights.

And even supposing that she never recanted on abortion, one would still have to conclude that Condi Rice would be better than any Democrat -- who, after all, would have to have impeccable pro-abort credentials.

this same discussion took place the last time this article was posted, last week i believe.

the suggestion was made, and i believe wisely, that we pray for her conversion on the issue. if my memory serves me correctly, even ronald reagan was not always pro-life.

if God touches her hear so that she sees the issue clearly, then i believe Dr. Rice will have almost unanimous support in '08 (assuming she is promoted to VP, defense or state in 2nd GWB term, which is i believe inevitable).

so in the meantime, let's pray.

I look at it this way. No matter what she says from now on she will NEVER get the support of the militant pro-lifers out there, so it isn't worth even worrying about. Remember, these are the same people who say Bush isn't "pro-life enough" desipte probably doing more for the movement than Reagan.

I pray that one day these people see how much damage they actually do to the pro-life movement.

Perhaps she has never considered the issue. As a Christian she should, but I'll reserve judgement unless/until it becomes obvious she is running for office. As a Christian and as an African-America she should be strongly pro-life. The number of abortions in the black community typically far outpaces that of their population percentage. It is a terrible thing.

My vote will be decided here more than any other single place, I am afraid.

I pray for that, as I am a big Condi fan.
