The guest analyst just said that it could be just as easily be some kid. That this guy is exhibiting no skill. Anyone can take out a target at 100 yards with an AR-15.

Then what's-his-name (the anchor) said that he also will not give him any credit for skill, since he is shooting people from behind.

They seemed to be purposefully taunting the guy.

Proactive measures, used by the FBI (etc.) to get their subject to take more risks, leave a more obvious signature at the next crime scene, or just get stressed out and mess something up. I can't think of any real-life instances off the top of my head, but if you've ever read Red Dragon or seen any of the movie versions, you've seen some excellent proactive measures.

Of course, in Red Dragon, the guy went after the reporter....

Actually, I agree. I've done a considerable amount of shooting in my time, both at targets and live game. Among my many firearms is a 1937 Mossberg & Sons .22 long rifle with a long heavy barrel and the original 6x scope. I can hit a squirrel from 200 yds with that rifle and have done so many times. Hitting a target the size of a human would be no great feat, especially with the flat shooting .223. This guy has no great skill. He’s just willing and stupid enough to kill innocent human beings.

Oh, I agree on that aspect. I hunt deer, and 100 yards is a piece of cake, and their movements are unpredictable.

I suspect that if they are taunting the sniper it's Fox's initiative. I can't see Moose working through Fox news. And the FBI normally seems to deal with its friends in the liberal media.

That does take skill. But, hitting a target, as large as a human, at 100 yards with a decent rifle is easy. I've dropped many a deer at 100 yards and over. It's not that hard.

Hah! The FBI probably has him profiled as a Republican and I would imagine the FBI also has Republicans profiled as Fox viewers.

Can you imagine the situation room in the investigation? "Ok, we'll taunt him on CNN and ABC, see if we can draw him out." "Ah, that'll never work Joe, everybody knows those right winger nuts only watch Fox".

There's no evidence that his shooting skills are anything more than those of an average shooter, but his escape and evasion skills have been superb. I'd like to see them bring in some experienced military snipers (not police, they don't have to worry about E & E) to analyze how this guy's gtting away.

I'd say he's ex-military, but probably not a sniper. I'd like to know where he learned to shoot an scoot like that.

I blame the media for quite a few things associated with the sniper. I blame them solely for the attack of the 13 year old at scheool. The day of, and every day there after, the media was telling everyone how safe the schools were. The media was giving detailed information on the schedule of each school district in the area. After the second day of that, I told everyone I could get a hold of that the media is going to get a kid killed by the sniper. THank God the kid lived, but it was the taunting by the media that make all school children a target of the sniper.

The shots he is making are easy. The real skill he is displaying is his ability to get away after the shot. This indicates meticulous planning and probable help. Can anybody in the media say "terrorist conspiracy?"

Is FNC available in the Washington DC market? I was recently in the area and the hotel I was at did not have it.

If there were more than one, it would make sense to strike just after a previous one. Such as last night after the shooting. All resources were focused on that part of town. If another sniper then struck somewhere else, they would have a better chance at getting away, and possibly help the first shooter to escape as well.

you are correct, in my opinion. Just wonder if the media will say "Well, he hasn't targeted any news media yet so we must be safe", keep waiting for that one.
