Shepard Smith on Fox News just confirmed that anti-gun MD Gov. Paris Glendening has, by executive order, made illegal ANY discharge of a projectile weapon in four (4) counties around Washington DC.

This ban also includes bow/arrow and muzzloading hunting that are about to come into season, and all practice and recreational shooting.

I don't need any more apologies from you. The posts I made were before yours. All is forgiven.

The four counties mentioned are shotgun-only zones. They also have the largest population of anti-gun and anti-hunting voters. They also record the most automobile-whitetail deer encounters every year.

They are the areas where deer management through hunting is needed the most.

So far this sniper hasn't used a muzzleloader or a bow and arrow. His executive order violates a number of rights and makes absolutely no sense.

It'll be more of the same if KKT manages to steal this election like Glendenning did his first term.

The last release at the time of my posting was on October 8. I saw no mention of any ban on firearms discharges.

You don't expect a government website to be prompt do you? Whatever, it's now there

Bans "the discharge of firearms for recreational purposes, including hunting, in Montgomery, Prince George's, Anne Arundel and Howard Counties"

However: "The ban will remain in effect while the investigation into the sniper attacks continues and does not extend to approved shooting ranges in those jurisdictions."

Yep. That should do it.

Remove the right of citizens to defend themselves.

Remove the rights of hunters.

Overrule the 2nd Amendment.

Now those nasty terrorists will have to use knives and bombs. That will teach them a thing or two.

Actually, this is wonderful news. It will graphically point out the stupidity of the gun grabbers.

I suppose his point was that the sound of gun shots will cause over-reaction and panic. He probably also should have banned back-firing trucks, nail guns and "action/adventure" movies.

I think I read somewhere that the military might be getting involved and using surveillance equipment that detects muzzle bursts... I think if this were the case it would make sense to ban discharge so that if the sniper fired it would be easy to distinguish from the noise.

"The help will be provided in a way meant to comply with the Posse Comitatus Act, an 1878 law that bans the military from domestic law enforcement. That means the military will relay data to law enforcement officials and will not decide on its own what targets to watch, the official said."

"The Pentagon’s participation also could involve a system of sensors that could detect flashes of gunfire on the ground, the official said. "

Well, if the Governer wanted to ban gunfire to be able to easily pick up the snipers muzzle flash then he should also post police at every dang street corner so then when the feds finally determine that they infact did see gunfire then the info comes down the police chain of command and the police at the street corner can find out they they just missed the sniper by 20 minutes. also the sniper can defeat that strategy by firing his weapon from inside a vehicle...hmmm, isn't he already doing that?!? Someone please find the Governor a brain ... any brain will do really.
