David Bonior is complaining that the Republican Guard might be intimidating the Democrat Guard and blocking them from the polls.

If Saddam doesn't get more than 100%, Kofi Anan has said he will demand a recount.

I understand Zogby bucked the trend and actually predicted Saddam would win. Damn he's good.

I think Saddam will probably win. He is the incumbent, and that's a hard thing to overcome.

"I think Saddam will probably win. He is the incumbent, and that's a hard thing to overcome."

True, but his negatives are high. Especially amongst the Kurds, a powerful bloc. He did hire Carville recently though and has McAuliffe on retainer for fundraising. Meanwhile, in the United States, Saddam is getting a lot of favorable press from the likes of Helen Thomas, Thomas Friedman (the NY Times and Washington Compost both came out with endorsements) and Molly Ivans. Meanwhile, the ad blitz on CNN/ABC/CBS/NBC also works in his favor. I think that the Dan Rather interview will be the clincher.

I'm no pro but I think he's got this one wrapped up....

Saddam is a madman, but are not those who elect him also responsible for his acts?

If the citizens of the United States overwhelmingly elected Saddam as our leader, would we not be accountable for what he then did? Would the world not say we were to blame?

If so, it seems to follow then that when we start blowing Iraq apart, it will not be possible to have collateral damage, as there will be no innocents.

This sham of an election gives us license to do what needs to be done.
