MIAMI -- Miami-Dade County officials decided Tuesday to hire a group that monitors elections in developing democracies for corruption and error to watch the polls here on Nov. 5.
County commissioners voted 6-5 to employ The Center for Democracy at the polls. Proponents said the monitors will help restore the confidence of voters who feel they were disenfranchised during the botched Sept. 10 primary and the 2000 presidential election. Many in the county's black community had demanded the observers.

I think the military should be present too, just to insure that our men overseas aren't disenfranchised this time around. Ticks me off that military votes were clearly not counted, but this fictitious black voter turned back by who knows who keeps popping up. Typical Dem strategy. Accuse your opponenent of doing the exact sleazy thing you are doing yourself.

What's hilarious if that this is an example of liberals bringing in liberals to keep an eye on their own liberals.
But in any case, we need to make our own demands to restore confidence in the polls---in every urban area of America. What's good for the goose is good for the gander.
Here's my method:

What a laugh. This is just a ploy to try to quiet criticism of fraud. Charles Robb, James Moran, and Rendell (who used to run the Demo comittee) of PA are all on the board of Directors - but I can't find a republican. Can anyone else? They should save their money and or hire someone TRULY independent - because I certainly won't believe they can be trusted!

But who's going to watch the watchdogs??

Some unhappy leftists said this about it on another web site:
"The Center for Democracy, a New York-based foundation run by Soviet emigres which has used the Soviet human rights network, tourists, and "experienced" travelers to gather political and military information on the U.S.S.R. The Center has also smuggled American films with anti-Soviet themes (White Nights, Red Dawn and The Assassination of Trotsky) into the Soviet Union."
I don't know if it's the same group, though.

I looked at the board of directors. Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison (R-TX) is on the list. No idea about the others.

Thanks for the heads up. I don't know any more than can be read at their site.

Haven't had time to research this group yet, but my antenna always goes up when the word "democracy" is emphasized as much as this Center does on its website.
I see nothing where they use the U.S. Constitution or Americanism as their lodestone. To the contrary, this appears to be a globalist bunch using liberal do-goodism as a cover. The very blandness of their website gives me pause.
The very fact they want to monitor the Florida election gives me the creeps.
I wonder if Jimmy Carter is involved behind the scenes here. Carter is quietly involved in many strange activities that most people are unaware of. His hammer and saw is HIS cover.

Gee, the CENTER FOR DEMOCRACY sure has the sound of one of those socialist front organizations.
