There are fewer and fewer tools available with which to fight the rot in our culture. I'm glad the people of Seattle found one that worked, at least for a little while.

Kudos to the brave citizens who refuse to rent to killers.

The only "rot" in our culture are those who succeed in using scare tactics to deprive women of their reproductive rights and attempt to overthrow Roe V. Wade. You can say anything you want in the way of flaming me, but abortion is legal and should be available to any woman who chooses it without duress and innuendo.

I'm glad the people of Seattle found one that worked, at least for a little while. But they didn't:
Our abortion and reproductive health services continued without interruption at the new site in July.

Let me see if I understand.
Choice of a woman to kill an innocent - OK.
Choice of a landowner to not rent space to someone - BAD.
If they are going to harp on the "choice" phrase then they have to accept it when it is used against them.

I guess those "nuts" that protest outside the clinics around here are having an effect. A fine effect if you ask me.
This woman was going to put an abortion clinic in the Gateway shopping center?! That is a tiny commercial lot off a really busy state road about 5 minutes from my house.
The tenents are currently a QFC grocery store, a small diner, and a liquor store. I would be willing to bet my next five paychecks that the diner and grocery store wouldn't want a abortions and the protests going on right next door.
The protesters I've seen around here aren't even severe. Two people with a sign each containing pictures of healthy babies. Standing on the sidewalk praying.
I say this is great. If we can't ban abortion at least push their baby carving asses back into Seattle.

Boo hoo, you murderous fiend!

His interest in my work was narrow. I was never asked about my tenure on the alumni board of Harvard Medical School or my community involvement. That's cuz these activities don't reflect badly on the landlord.

It doesn't sound like the landlords are refusing her rental space because of ideological reasons. It sounds like they're being rational; they don't want protests on their property, or the possibility of abortion clinic-related violence (other than the violence against the fetus, of course). The potential costs associated with housing an abortion mill have caused the landlords to place a very high reservation price on their property.
In other words, she's not oppressed, she's just cheap.
Or it may be that the economics classes are getting to my brain, the landlords really are principled, and the abortionist really is oppressed. That would make me very happy.

I suspect that landlords would sooner rent to the Beltway Sniper than to an abortionist serial murderer. No sympathy from this quarter.

Open House on OCtober 21 -- public is welcome!!
Aurora Medical Services, (1001 Broadway) from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Oct. 21.
Do you suppose she will offer free abortions like NY City Planned Parenthood did after 9-11?
Or do you suppose she will show you a live abortion procedure and the "products of conception" she terminates with her own hands??
Sure hope there are some Seattle freepers that will take her up on her offer and report back to us.
