Police Can't Produce Sniper Sketch
Associated Press ^ | Wednesday, October 16, 2002

ROCKVILLE, Md. (AP) -- For the first time since the Washington-area sniper slayings began, more than one witness saw a man fire and flee in a white van, but investigators said Wednesday that none of the witnesses got a good enough look to yield a sketch.

``There are a couple of people who believe they saw a man shoot, unfortunately distance and darkness and perhaps adrenaline have made them unable to give a clear composite that we can disseminate,'' said Montgomery County Police Capt. Nancy Demme.

Demme said one witness told police the shooter used an AK-74 rifle to kill 47-year-old FBI analyst Linda Franklin on Monday night outside a Falls Church, Va., Home Depot store.

``The witness firmly believes this is the weapon,'' Demme said. ``But we have to keep in mind that weapons are interchangable, like vehicles.''

Investigators said the latest shooting has yielded the most detailed clues yet in the search for the killer, including license plate information and a description of a man seen leaving the scene in a white, Chevy Astro van with a burned-out or broken left tail light.

Yep. And god forbid you tell anyone they're middle-eastern. What do they think will happen if they ever catch and try them. They can't keep it a secret at that point.

AFAIK the AK-47 does not shoot .223, while versions of the AK-74 do. So no quizmaster required.

Norinco has an AK-47 in Remington .223, the exact same caliber as the original shell casing.

Someone in the Maryland Gun Registration office deliberately shut down the computer which would have received ID info since exactly 6 months ago.

The back of the tarot card asking that the press NOT be informed was written in German.

Moose worked with Patrice Lumumba Ford, son of a Black Panther, for Vera Katz who refused to help the Feds find illegal ME immigrants.

Moose ran out on a scandal in Portland having to do with police corruption under him which broke two days after his departure, but he had applied for the job of chief in D.C. He missed that but got sucked up by the Superintendant of Montgomery County for $125,000 a year immediately.

He is a clinton/Reno goldenhaired boy who instituted a *good* racial profiling system in Portland and then again immediately after becoming chief in Montgomery County.

Battles was Quanell X's personal bodyguard before he left for Portland and founded his won security company. One of the other perps owned a SHUTTLE company.
Moose speaks in the same cadence and speech pattern of Quanell X and spends a good deal of time going to Mosques to *reassure* Muslims of his protection.

The New Black Panthers and the National Alliance have been forming an unholy partnership since 9/11. MD's is located in Gaithersburg, Hagerstown, and Baltimore.
One of their (white) leaders lives in Montgomery county.

What were the uniformed and weapons toting New Black Panthers carrying at the confrontation in Houston?

There is far more, but if you think the gov. doesn't know these are terrorists, the military would not be involved. This is nothing more than target practice for a bigger target.

Remember when they said they would strike at *the heart* of America? Or has everything about 9/11 just gone bye-bye???

I have asked the same question. From what I understand, Osama's bunch prefers not to take credit for a good portion of the terrorist acts that they do. I think that credit-taking was a fad among terrorist groups, which has since subsided--except for in Israel.

BTW, is the spodefly a bouy or a gull?

100% Grade A South Georgia Farmboy ... er, bouy ... now living smack in the middle of Atlanta and travelling the world, but going back to taste the dirt as often as possible.

If I recall correctly, the AK-74 was engineered so that it could fire captured NATO 5.56mm ammunition, but it's 5.45 ammo would be worthless in NATO rifles.

I believe that "shorty" you always see in the background with Osama is an AKS-74. You can tell by the magazine.

That would certainly explain why it's important if the beltway sniper is using an AK-74. An American would have to stand on his head to know about on, much less obtain one. If purchased legally, it would certainly stand out. Friends would remember it.

all the more reason to believe the perps are anti-American, if not on AQ's payroll.

'reliable and cheap SKS(s) in the BLOAT/CACHE department....excellent cheap non optics firearm '

Now don't anybody show up here dissen' the SKS..... It's quite a bit more accurate than run-of-mill AK-types, and was abandoned for the AK partly because it cost more to make. That's because it's made of large pieces of steel and wood, not stamped out of sheet metal, like a sewing machine.

That and the lack of the large banana stickn' out the bottom.

The first improvement made to the "new" AK-47 was to turn it back into a semi -- like the SKS -- so that sort of 'cancellelled itself out'. If you prefer the fast handling of a straight stock without a large root-catching grip sticking out the bottom, you might prefer the SKS. I only wish I had bought a bunch back when I thought it was a piece of cr*p!

Please, everyone stop getting so siries about sorting out the various AK-style rifles. (Can't we all just get along?) I think they're all just different models of the same rifle, including the twelve-guage . . .

you are kidding, right?

the ever so refined, enlightened, and diverse loving citizens will most likely make Islamic studies mandated so we can try to understand these poor, down-trodden men of peace.......(/sarcasm)

``But we have to keep in mind that weapons are interchangable, like vehicles.''

But didn't the ballistics test show the same weapon was fired as in the other sniper shootings?

Why is the media falsely dividing "dark-skinned" and "olive-skinned?" It's apparent to me that since all agree that the shooter was NOT black, that "dark" merely is one way of saying "olive-skinned."

That's like saying "alabaster" and "pale." That doesn't indicate a great disparity in the skin tone, simply two different ways of stating the same thing. And the witness who said "white" could have been the one with the worst view, or been black or Asian and there's been a tendency in my experience for them to label people who are light as "white."

In German? No shiite! Lemme see, which terrorist org sent people from Germany before... thinking... thinking...

Are you certain it is in German? That would certainly explain the stilted sounding "Dear policemen" and the incongruous "I am God." "Lieber Polizist, Ich bin Allah."
