Looks like you are the only one who sees that this article was form 1975.

"PLAYBOY: And what if a Muslim woman wants to go out with non-Muslim blacks -- or white men, for that matter? ALI: Then she dies. Kill her, too. "
Didn't he fight the draft because he was against killin'?

What does Harry Belafonte think about all this?"DAYY-OH! ONE-DAY SA-A-Y-L-O! ONE-DAY-ONLEE-AT-THE BONMAR-CHE!"

ALI: Then she dies. Kill her, too. Muhammed Ali is one of the Peaceful MuslimsTM, right?

And he's saying this in 'Playboy'?
To: zapiks44
Islam...religion of peace....

I'd say that the FR staff aren't niggardly when it comes to pulling posts with racially sensitive words. That's all.
To: zapiks44
Mohammad Ali poster boy for "the religion of peace!"

Interracial couples are the same as America, mom and apple pie? This guy is just intolerant toward everything. And he was an overrated boxer, too.

I thought Ali broke with the NOI and now follows a more traditional Islamic path. Not sure when he did that, though.

ALI: A black man should be killed if he's messing with a white woman. And Clinton was just elected to the Black Hall of Fame.
To: SamAdams76
I would venture to guess that ol' Muhammed Ali got one too many punches to the head. Abolutely, abolutely.

Why do black nationalists think that Islam is somehow blacker and some other religion? Wherever Islam spreads in Africa, the African culture and languages die, replaced by an Arabic-centered culture. How is this more 'black?'

Why do black nationalists think that Islam is somehow blacker and some other religion? Wherever Islam spreads in Africa, the African culture and languages die, replaced by an Arabic-centered culture. How is this more 'black?' I can't claim to be well read on this at all, but some time ago it occurred to me that the rise of NOI was due to a feeling of alienation from, and ultimately rebellion against, the "Man's" America and the "Man's" religions: Christianity and Judaism.
Of course, it would take hold among the most alienated elements of Black America. As such, it created (or, better, made clear) a significant fault line between two Black subcultures.
Perhaps someone here has an idea of why NOI has two seemingly different attitudes toward Christianity and Judaism: Disdain for the former, and hatred for the latter. It could be merely that the demagogues (who, like all of their kind, figured they could profit from a good scapegoat) found Judaism a safer target.

His daughter, who is also a boxer, has decided not to remain a Muslim now that she is an adult. Doesn't that mean that she is supposed to be killed now, in the name of Islam?

Yeah they were the original black slavers. But they castrated in Arabia, hence no descendants

Let's expand on what was going on in the 50's and 60's, when Ali developed a lot of his beliefs.
Here you are, a black person, looking at other blacks being lynched, in the name of self-proclaimed Christian organizations such as the KKK and the White Citizen's Council.
At the same time, Islam is introduced for the first time to some black folks stating that blacks are superior. So, this taps into some sense of belonging and "self-esteem".
The result is racism.
Neither true Christianity nor true Islam support racism. Yet, the perverted beliefs are now all around us in the form of:
Christian Identity Movement
NOI
They're both wrong.
As stated earlier, Malcolm X saw this when he converted to Orthodox Islam, and, of course, many good Christians of all colors opposed the KKK.
Unfortunately, Muhammad Ali, the boxer, probably doesn't see the full truth yet.

Just providing my point of view. The truth can be derived from both religion and science; further, religion can provide some advanced scientific insight. Regarding Muhammad making life sweeter, Arabia just before Muhammad was one of the lowest places on earth. The civilication progressed rapidly thereafter. It's all about historical context. Good day. A scientist.
