Over at TheFiringLine.com, there are many reports from credible long-time posters that the feds are intimidating Maryland gun owners into 'voluntarily' turning over their guns for 'ballistic testing'. Please check out the following discussion threads:

5000 rifles turned-in, in Maryland?

A Special Note To Maryland Gun Owners

Goodbye TFL- for now

This is a realization of the worst fears of gunowners. Feds showing up at your door, demanding you turn over your guns. Threats and intimidation. Absolute proof that the fedgov keeps lists of who owns what guns. This is our Orwellian nightmare come true. If you turn over your guns to the feds, good luck getting them back! Perhaps Maryland is just a test case for federal gun confiscation techniques? We'll see....

"Another technique would be to say to the "agent" -- "Sir, at this time I must inform you that I may record this call for reviewe by my attorney."

Informing the JBT would be a very good move. I would advise him that the call is being recorded "for purposes of customer service and quality control".....

"U.S. marshals from the task force questioned the owner of Schelin Guns in College Park last week about a man who took a firearms-safety class at the shop in late September, less than a week before the shooting spree began Oct. 2 in Montgomery County."

Well Marshal, ya plum got 'im, by crackie. Good work, sir. You've really come a long way since your days as a shipping clerk at the Baltimore Sheltered Workshop.

Yup, yer Maw would be real proud. So'd your daddy, if only you knew who -- oh, well, never mind.......

It's an excellent site. The guy who runs it must be a photographer for his day job, because he has a lot of skill (both technical and an eye for the political). I like the use of female models with AR-type weapons.

BTW, glocks do rock.

Get it straight guy.

In Maryland, it is illegal to tape a telephone conversation.

NOT to tape the voices in your office!!!!!

Why do you think that people put you on the speaker BOX!!!

My recorder picks up the voices in my office.

LET'S GET THE INFORMATION STRAIGHT AND REALLY HELP THESE FOLKS.

Cops record you when they pull you over.

If you have a trusted friend or relative that lives very close by, have them keep a camcorder or camera handy and remain vigilant. If the fedgovthugs show up, have them videotape the entire event (without sound) from concealment.

Are you dense!!

I a public place you can tape and record.

Let's get straight information out!!!

The government can't keep track of the people coming in to this country. How are they going to track every gun and round?

Great pic - the lady needs some eye protection though.

And as I recall, the battle at Thermopylae was, while horribly lopsided, a total loss for the Spartans.

Our own experiences during the US Revolutionary War might be more appropriate.

That is a nice pic though - GREAT looking hat.

VIGILANT1 WROTE: "Well, the gun banners are pushing for a 'ballistic fingerprinting' database. It looks like they'll have one in Maryland now, with even the inconvenience of having to get any legislation through Congress. These bullets and fired cases that they collect will be scanned into a database, and remain on file forever."

VIGILANT1 ADDED: "BTW, just in case national ballistic fingerprinting passes, you can get a 'fire lapping kit' at most gunstores. It contains bullets coated with various grades of industrial grit. You reload these into cases with standard reloading equipment, and fire them in your gun. You fire the coarsest grit ones first, then move on to the finer grits. This will 'lap', or sand down the rifling grooves in your barrel, removing those nasty factory machining marks and smoothing out the interior of the barrel for better accuracy. Of course, it will also completely change the 'ballistic fingerprint' of the gun. Lots of target shooters use these kits on their guns. Best to get them now, before any ballistic fingerprinting bill passes, as they're going to be sold out & backordered soon after such a bill becomes law. Also, you might want to get a spare extractor, ejector, firing pin and to carefully polish up the bolt face with a Dremel tool and rouge pad. That will change the unique marks left on ejected brass cartridge cases, marks that are electronically photographed and added to 'ballistic fingerprinting' databases as well. Just a tip for you...."

That is VERY interesting!

Personally, I don't like guns. But I am all FOR citizens having them.

I understand the murder rate went WAY DOWN in states in which people started carrying concealed weapons---the "bad guys" weren't as likely to try something if they thought THEY might be killed by a "good guy" carrying a concealed weapon. The "Beltway Sniper" would have been STOPPED/DEAD in short order in THOSE states!

You know, isn't it AMAZING that for 200 YEARS, short guns and rifles NEVER jumped off of the mantle and went out and killed people??? But now, they apparently do---at least if you listen to the RADICAL, LEFT-WING LIBERAL EXTREMISTS, aka RATS.

HOW could this country go on for 200 YEARS without "sensible gun laws" keeping those guns on the mantle? HOW did kids RESPECT guns and NOT take them down unless he/she had PERMISSION from their parents to touch/use them? HOW did kids OWN---and USE---their OWN rifles?

Oh, this is too much for me to think about. But I don't have to---the RATS are trying to legislate to make it so nobody but LE's have access to guns so we can have another 1939 GERMANY or 2002 IRAQ/AFGHANISTAN here in the USA.

SAURONOFMORDOR WROTE: "The Brady Act officially prohibits any government agency from maintaining a registration list. My reading of it does not preclude the government from passing data to a NON-governmental group (like handgun control inc) and letting THEM maintain a database. Something like the stink in California a few years back over cops there giving data to ADL so ADL could maintain files on certain groups for the cops, where the cops were not allowed to."

EXTREMELY GOOD observation! It's just like the govt conning us into getting a SSN because it can't EVER be used for ID. Yeah, right!

I don't live in MD, but from what I am learning, you can apply, but very few permits are awarded. FOX news ran the statistics about CCW permit applications being up 500%. Maybe some Freeper from MD can clarify?

Hmmmmmmmmm..........

The meaning of the word "Islam" is supposed to mean "submit". The BATF/FBI/MSP/MCPD/SS et. al. demands that free citizens "submit" to their requests. Doesn't this make the powers that be 'brothers' with the Moozlim extremists?
