Per FOXNews, a 10am EASTERN news conference is planned. Two travelers pulled off I-95 for dinner at a Ponderosa Steak House. The Man, 37, was shot in the gut while his wife stood next to him.

Bullet has NOT been removed from the man while, after surgery, he remains in Critical but GUARDED condition, however, x-rays are expected to provide some dimensional analysis of the slug. Further surgeries may be required on the victim, according to FOX and then the bullet is likely to be recovered.

Meanwhile, the "white" box truck/van that was found with a "Shell" in it at Dulles is reported to be a 7.62 (.030'??) OLD shell and NOT expected to be part of the "Sniper Shootings".

Multiple LEA's are now in Ashland, VA located about 80 miles south of DC to begin more site investigations at first light of dawn.

Numerous witnesses in the area saw the man fall down and provided aid to the man. The man was still conscious and spoke during the rescue. According to (spit) CNN, there will be NO news conferences from the hospital.

It seems to me that the message leaver HAS to be the shooter, as only the shooter would know about the Ponderosa.

Only thing that makes any sense to me is a phone booth number.

Still say it is one person, and I doubt AQ would play these Mickey Mouse Games..

Belay my last. I just heard a rerun on Moose's statement, and he said, "You left us a phone number. and we do want to talk to you."

If this shooter is prepared to talk directly to the cops, he must have some sophisticated equipment to avoid being traced, and maybe even one of those voice digitizers like in the movies.

These bastard cops better tell us what is going on, because I hate an unresolved mystery.

That could explain it. If it was a stolen phone, the person it was stolen from would have had the number shut off. The police could then have it turned on again.

He was mistaken, has retracted... There is no such information...there is no link to any article. (One of the Columbine shooters used "I am God" written in German as yearbook filler, and some news stories about the snipings have made reference to it)

Not necessarily would they know it was stolen. Hubby's phone was stolen on a Friday. He didn't know it was stolen until Monday. He only uses it for work and just assumed he left it at the office. $1800 worth of phone calls were made to South America in two days.

Police spokeperson is on the FNC saying that Moose was accurate in his statement.......the person that left the message at the Ponderosa will understand what is being asked by Moose.

It's very possible. But another poster thought the caller left them a cell phone and Moose was asking him to call that number. It would make even more sense IMO.

It has also occured to me that moving victims are gut shot- stationary ones head shot- so he/they may not be that good a marksman.

I thought something similar. That the torso shots were just harder for some reason or another. The shooter is so UNPICKY about victims, it about making the shot and escaping for him. He may be on a time clock - if he doesn't get an easy head shot within, say, 15 minutes, he takes the next available shot. He's very disciplined.

He gets off on the hysteria that follows. That's what he's about.
