Oscar has Passed Away
today | me

Posted on 10/20/2002 11:30:07 AM PDT by Moleman

I apologize for the vanity- I am heartbroken today as my best friend and faithful companion has died. My tuff little Yorkie, Oscar, was killed last night by a coyote. The damn coyote snatched him right off of his rope in the backyard. Seems like the environmental nazi's want to keep all these killers alive so they can kill more domestic pets. He was my best friend in the whole world- his nickname was "Moleman"

I know how you feel and I'm so sorry.
I hope you find a way to kill that coyote.

Very sorry to hear about your pup.
Coyotes are particularly fearless and brazen unless they know they are being hunted. Count on them moving into more developed areas where they can't be. They're in all 48 lower states. Of course here in New Mexico we've got tons of them.

I'm so sorry to hear of it. I have a large dog of nearly 8 years. It's a breed that generally doesn't make it much past ten years of age. I'm already dreading the day...he's the dog of my childhood dreams and I can barely think of losing him to natural causes. I'd be even more devastated to lose a pet the way you did.

Sorry to hear about your buddy...
My best hunting buddy had a tough Yorkie...the little gun went after a wounded 12 pt. whitetail and the deer pinned him to the ground...
By the time we got to the barking dog the buck had him trapped in his horns ...amazingly he was untouched and my buddy finished off the deer..
The little guy would often take off at night and chase coons two or three times his size up trees and keep them there all night..he wouldnt come off...
Hard core coon hunters still talk about that little guy...
I know my buddy misses his Yorkie alot..
They are pretty special ...as was yours..
God Bless

I'm sorry to hear this, my heart goes out to you.

I have a little fox terrier whom I love. We live in the country and I've seen coyotes around here and worried about this same thing happening to her. She's a fisty little dog but, would be no match for a coyote.

My heart is breaking for you. I cannot imagine the horror for poor little Oscar and for you. I have a Maltese, and he is my child, so I know how much you loved him.
RIP Oscar.

Rainbow Bridge

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

Author unknown...

These little rascals (our pets) become family & the loss of one is never easy. I have walked in your shoes more than a few times, and know what you are experiencing now. Sorry about your loss

Sorry you lost your friend. We all know how important a good pet can be in our lives. No need to apologize for the vanity -- thanks for sharing it with us.

We live on a golf course and my dog is a large male springer spaniel that we often keep tied on the back deck. One day, in the middle of the afternoon, the dog starting putting up a ruckus (not allowed on the golf course) and I went out to see what was going on. There, about five feet from the deck was a coyote. The darn thing didn't even move when it saw me. I had to scare the thing away.

It's pretty ridiculous when wild animals are stealing peoples' pets right out of their yards! The Left always seems to want a return to the Wild West days, except where it comes to folks' right to protect their property.

If it's any consolation, I plan to take a trip next spring to Western Nebraska to thin out the coyote population there.

We have lost four cats and a rather friendly skunk (it ate nightly on my back porch) to owls in our neighborhood. Two of the cats were mine. I was warned that the fine will break me if I kill an owl--they are protected. I saw two of them land at the pond behind my house one evening at dusk. Supposedly, they have a wingspan of five feet--I guess that's right because they were huge.
