Is this a knock, knock joke? I was typing about the asian guy that was doing the shooting at the UN meeting a couple of weeks ago, upset about the starving asians.

What REAL terrorist makes a list in a letter of the names of the people answering the phones that ignored him? If it was a real terrorist don't you think that more people would be dead by now? He wanted the money in a bank account by Monday. Do you think a real terrorist would be pussy footing around like he has with police, it Tuesdays now, going on Wednesday. No he would go out and start traveling and shooting people one by one in a series and within hours of each other. A real terrorist would want more than 10 million. As far the accent... police have not verified this, only that the audio was bad... probably because he is talking through a voice changer. If it was a terrorist he would not hide the fact that he was Middle Eastern...no!. Gathering up all the ME's in the DC area would not be the PC thing to do, he knows this so why not let the police know he of ME decent if he really was? I am now convinced it not a ME man.

One official described the caller as "extremely angry." The caller, he said, used such phrases as "Just shut up and listen," or "Hear me out," or "I am God," or "I'm in charge."
To me "Hear me out" is an American phrase. This is an american wacko... unless I learn more from the letter that says what he wants specifically and why he is killing people, but if it just a demand for 10 million and him griping about how he was treated when he called the tip line then this is an american.

Mark Fuhrman made a great point on Hannity this afternoon: The public has no right to criminal investigation information while the investigation is ongoing - none - at all. Information that would aid in keeping people safe from getting shot, that doesn't compromise the investigation, fine, give it out.I agree. I think this is what yesterday afternoon's press conference was all about. Parents needed to know that all children - their children - had been singled out and targeted. It was appropriate and necessary for this information from the 3-page letter to be given to the public. We the public do not need to know the handwriting analysis, the jargon, the misspelled words, the tone, the blackmail request, the phone number, or anything else contained in the letter - as Mark Fuhrman pointed out, that would all be information relevant to the investigation, which should not be compromised by being released.
On the other hand, This Article, which was released on Monday, the 21st, states explicitly that "a US police sketch of the gunman who has killed nine people in the Washington area since October 2" exists. I think such information, released to the public, would save lives and help the investigation. It is far more likely that a citizen will see the sniper before LE does - there are just more of us. We ought to be apprised of the gunman's 'sketch' in order to 'Be On the Look Out'. As it is now, we don't know who to believe: there are too many conflicting reports. Is the perp a single gunman or several? Is he on a bicycle, on foot, in a white van, a box truck, or a Chevy wagon? Is he a white American, French, Mexican, or Middle Eastern? Does he speak with an accent? Until police release this sketch we have to assume it could be any or all of the above. IMHO, that causes widespread panic. A populace in panic does not aid the investigation.

"Five people had to die" because of it, the letter said, according to one law enforcement source who has seen a copy of the letter. This letter was sent at the time of the shooting in Ashland Saturday. At that point the sniper had killed 9 people (now 10). Presumably he could not know at that point whether the shooting victim would survive or not.
So, at the time he made this statement, he was thinking he had killed either 9 or 10 people. That means he started phoning the tip number after either his 4th or 5th victim. At the end of his shooting spree on the morning of Oct. 3, he had killed 5 people. Since presumably he would not have made his call in the middle of the spree, this presumably means he started calling at the end of the spree that morning, Oct. 3.
At that time, the tip number did not yet exist. But there were other numbers that people were being asked to call then. I wonder if any record was kept of the numbers from which calls were being received.

I think you've hit the nail on the head. A real terrorist wouldn't give authorities a chance to comply with anything. They would just make their hits until they die for doing it. It's all about dying for allah and getting 7 virgins.

Yes, I think there was a record because on at least one of them, the authorities staked out the phone booth at the gas station. Remember? That's when they nabbed those 2 illegal aliens in the white van. That really ticked the sniper off according to the news reports. He now knows that if he gets caught using the phone booths, negotiations are over...
