Overnite, two men arrested while sleeping in their car at a reststop in MD. John Mohammed aka John Williams and his stepson Lee Malvo. Mohammad is thought to be the likely shooter.

They believe they are the "sniper crew".

A wife or ex-wife lives in DC area

They are connecting them to other robberies/killings

They lived in Tacoma, Wash and used a tree for target practice. They have taken some bullets from the site. Some were lodged in a tree and they took the tree trunk (chopped it down) for evidence.

I am certain others have thought of the following but I will restate it here anyway. The presumption at this point is that these two are the DC Shooters or are part of the conspiracy.

Since we will probably be told repeatedly how the fact that they are Islamic really is irrelevant it should be pointed out that either these two are connected with Al Qaeda (the highest proability as it was with the shoe bomber and the guty who started shooting at LAX) or else we have ticking time bombs in all the peaceful muslims in this nation. Of course we have no way of knowing how many moderate muslims are really just radical islamofacists with a closer shave. In short we have a clear case of terrorism in teh DC area linked to islam.

The duck in a noose is about as clearly a coded message as one can get. Given the situation I would expect that we can expect that a rash of such incidents will soon be happening.

The crazy part was even last night there were some speculating about the shooter being some kind of white supremacist. A post from SLB this morning included some speculation about a tie to the OKC bombing. Maybe we will learn more later on that but we definitely have a tie to the Million Man March. Who knows maybe we will get a tie in to the Million Mom March and VPC? At this point I am no longer discounting any possible linkages among the leftists who are at war with the USA.(all the above I have bo evidence for just my morning rant but I do suspect that there will be a lot more killing in the next couple months as others pick up where these left off.

The Seattle Times article seems to have a lot of details in it when noone knew who the two were till 10 PM last night. Just wondering if they had a heads-up or they typed real fast.

I think all the reporters covering this story--and most certainly law enforcement--are absolutely exhausted. And the story is far from over.

I feel much better this morning for two reasons.
1. I believe the right man has been arrested and these shootings will stop, at least for a while, all of this has been a bigger load on me than I ever realized until this morning. I really have thought a lot about how much suffering this has caused for so many people. Must be age because I didn't let things get to me when I was younger.

2. As you say, the profilers are now shown up as the fools they are, "angry white males with mommy issues", indeed.
I have said all along that this was a terrorist operation and I believe if we ever hear the whole story it will be revealed as such. "John Ali Muhammad"is about as far from a young white well-educated male as you can get. So I hereby confess to deriving ego-satisfaction from this arrest.

Timeline:

1. In tape message, Williams said "You better take me seriously on this. If you don't believe me, check with the people in Montgomery."

2. Police finally got around to checking Montgomery, Ala, (instead of Montgomery County) where a liquor store was held up 10 days before the sniping began. A women employee was shot in the back with a .223 bullet. Police also found a fingerprint matching Malvo.

3. The fingerprint led LE to Malvo's stepfather, and to Tacoma.
