Leftist Media Try to Blame Military for Sniper Suspect (Reuter's Barfing)

It figures: The left-wing media establishment is downplaying and even ignoring sniper suspect John Allen Muhammad's pro-terrorist sympathies and ties to radical Islam, the anti-American left and Louis Farrakhan - and is trying to blame the U.S. military.

In reporting the filing of charges against Muhammad, the prominent British news service Reuters this evening never even mentioned the words "Islam," "Muslim," "Farrakhan" or "terrorism."

...
Fox News Channel this afternoon showed footage of a reporter asking Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld if the U.S. military felt responsible for the Washington-area shootings. His astonished reaction to the absurd question was priceless.

It is not just that Reuters is bad, it is that it is getting worse all of the time! I was watching FoxNewsChannel (FNC) and they stated that Reuters was the one who button-hold Rumsfeld in the Pentagon Corridor to ask if the sniper was 'a black eye' for the military's reputation.

What I'd like to see is the REPORTERS identified as asking these incredibly STUPID questions. Question, isn't it time that Such blatant bias get some of it back? What can we do to Reuters as pay back?

Tom Brokaw on NBC was OBSCENE!

In the first six minutes of his nightly news report he said "Army soldier" FOUR times before he finally said the murderer's name six minutes into the report.

It took 12 minutes for his report to say,"He worships at the Nation of Islam. He helped provide security for the Million Man March," taking under 10 seconds to say that, and no mention of Louis Farrakhan...
ZIP, GONE, and then we have many MINUTES of Military training in shooting M-16's, and a couple of MINUTES of BUSHmaster rifle company owner being a BUSH supporter, and blah, blah, blah about the gunmaker being a BUSH supporter.

OBSCENE!!!!

I'll just add to my own post the following. I can accept that Reuters wants to do reporting from around the world so it wants to avoid slanting or biased words. However to not call 09/11/2001 aircraft hijacking and suicide crashes TERRORISM is to start down the road to ultimate PC'dom. If any Reuter reporter were to ever ask me for the time of day, I'd tell them it was midnight since they're obviously to deep inside their own body cavity to see daylight!

The Democrats can't control their obvious hatred for the military and conservatives in America. Its just amazing how they're letting the viotrol loose with barely two weeks to go to Election Day. Its not going to sit well with the swing set moderates out there.

Past time these fools are dealt with; do think NO ONE in the Administration should answer a question posed by one of the Marxist Leftist whose enemy is in fact, TRUTH. . .

. . .they should be ignored at all times; and when Reuters challenges them; the Administration can dismiss the bias charge by offering that these are not 'journalists' . . .only propagandists.

More difficult question is what we can do. . .

Did he happen to mention how long it has been since Mohammed was in the military? That is very important piece of information if you are going to try to run a story based on "facts."

I personally hope someone smacked this woman in the mouth for asking such a stupid question. I have heard reporters asking a lot of stupid questions, but so far I think this is one of the stupidest!!

Rumsfeld tiptoed around the circumstances of JAW's release from the military as their may be privacy laws on this information. Bets are on that it wasn't an honorable discharge, but an administrative one. He supposedly spent some time in the brig after hitting an officer. I think he was discharged sometime around 94-96.

Not surprised. As a Marine, I said all along that referring to this criminal as a "sniper" instead of what he was a "serial murderer" would come back and bite the military right in the behind. Glorifing a criminal while denigrating a well respected and honorable profession. Semper Fi

I believe I heard on one of the news stations that he had been out of the army for something like 17 years. Is this correct?

I've read that he received a "Less Than Honorable" discharge.

If the left and their pc policies hadn't already infiltrated the military, they could weed through and reject those applicants that they deem "not up to standard".

As ususal, leftists make a mess then accuse others for the resulting injuries.

Rumsfeld's comment was, "you've got to be kidding!"

He then turned and walked away.

Muhammad served from 1978 to 1985 in the Louisiana National Guard, where he faced disciplinary charges twice — including a conviction for striking a noncommissioned officer in the head while on duty.

He enlisted in the Army in November 1985 and was posted to Fort Lewis in Washington state, then transferred to Germany in 1990, to Fort Ord, Calif., in 1992, and back to Fort Lewis the following year.

Muhammad didn't receiver sniper training during his Army career, but he did receive a Marksmanship Badge with expert rating — the highest of three ratings — in use of the M-16 rifle, according to Army records.

He was trained mainly as a combat enginer, his specialty in the 1991 Gulf War, and also as a metal worker and a water transport specialist. His highest ranking on active duty was sergeant.

After his discharge in April 1994, he served in the Oregon National Guard until 1995.

The Wash. Post has a section called KidsPost. This is the WP's attempt to provide news that educators can use in the classroom while instructing students whose reading abilities are not yet mature enough for the regular sections of the paper. Muhammad is refered to only as a former member of the U.S. Army and Malvo only as someone originally from Jamaica.
