I'm disappointed, everytime something significant happens, I get 'booted' off. What's going on. Do we need to buy new/additional equipment?

Is everyone who is posting here using the beta site address like I am? I can't get the normal FreeRepublic.com site to come up at all.

It happens every other year around election time. The hits go way up.

I would love to read this thread, but the system is down and I can't log on.

It seems to me that the last time the FR server was this slow, it corresponded with the DDOS attack on root main servers (10-21-02).

It's the insurgence of RATS trolling FR to see if freedom-loving Americans are stomping on the tragic demise of the now-defunct resident communist of the US Senate.
By all accounts, he was a very nice, very principled communist and our prayers go out to his surviving sons, grandchildren, friends staff and family.
No one, I sincerely hope, has glee over the way and timing with which he left this world. God bless America and our Constitutional FREE Republic.

Any clue? A hint as to what is wrong would be much appreciated.

There was a thread about major servers being attacked by some mysterious foe last Monday, I think.
The timing to me suggested only one thing -- alQaeda.
Was there any positive feedback on the actual cause of the ISP servers going down

As a web hoster I can attest to the fact that there are days that any website might fly as well as a Twin Beech King Air over the Iron Range.

Things still aren't right. My "Latest Posts" list shows no new posts after 8;15 PM EST. It's now a half-hour later. Also on some threads, the replies cut off at 45 in number and then switch to the 50-100 thread. "My Comments" and "You Have Mail" are lit up, but there's no new messages and I can't get rid of the problem.

What's wrong with FR? I can't post anything and the page wont reload. It's been slow and unreliable all day.
